The 2023 Women in Films Gala took place at the prestigious Ray Dalby Ballroom in Hollywood, California on November 30th, 2023.
This star-studded event honored female trailblazers from films such as Barbie, Flaming Hot, and Past Lives.
However, one notable absence was Duchess Meghan, who was not invited to the gala.
Women in Film, an organization dedicated to achieving gender equity in the film industry, celebrated its 50th anniversary during the event.
The Max Mara-sponsored gala paid tribute to several influential women in Hollywood, including Jane Fonda, America Ferreira, Ava Longoria, Yara Shahidi, Celine Som, and Greta Leigh.
Industry leaders and trailblazers like Ava Longoria, Linda Yvette Chavez, Celine Som, Greta Leigh, Janice Minn, Lake Bell, Diane Warren, Lily Reinhart, Jon Hamm, and Harry Hamlin also showed their support.
Interestingly, this marks the second event this week that Meghan Markle was not invited to.
She was previously snubbed from the star-studded Gotham Awards.
Rumors have been circulating that Meghan approached WME, a talent agency, in an attempt to purchase an award for a Netflix series.
It was speculated that she hoped this award would help her establish more connections as a producer.
However, despite having numerous Hollywood connections, the CEO of WME was unable to secure Meghan an award or an invitation to the Women in Film’s honours gala.
Even Meghan’s former Suits co-star, Rachel Harris, received an invitation to the event, further highlighting Meghan’s exclusion.
Some experts believe that Meghan’s recent appearances with A-list celebrities are merely tactics to draw attention to her unemployed staff.
PR expert Mark Bukowski suggests that Meghan is signaling her desire to work in TV and film.
At a recent Variety event, Meghan expressed excitement about upcoming projects she couldn’t wait to announce.
However, Bukowski dismissed her words as empty tactics, emphasizing her constant need for recognition and connection to fundraising activities.
Adding to the intrigue, Meghan attended the Variety Power of Women event without her husband, Prince Harry.
Despite the presence of A-listers like Leonardo DiCaprio and Oprah Winfrey, none took a photo with Meghan.
She was seated near Mr. DiCaprio and her Uber agent Brad Slater, who also represents Ben Affleck, Dwayne Johnson, and Meghan’s longtime friend Serena Williams.
Bukowski suggests that Meghan’s behavior is an attempt to generate gossip and excitement, particularly on social media, by creating rumors and speculation about her connections in the movie industry.
In recent days, Meghan has been aggressive in her tactics, ensuring that she is seen at high-profile events such as BeyoncĂ© and Katy Perry’s concerts.
Last month, she and Harry attended a mental health summit in New York City and the opening of a Navy SEALs facility in San Diego on the eve of Veterans Day.
It seems that the couple has received word that they need to promote themselves if they want others to be interested in what they have to offer.
Unfortunately, after being dropped by Spotify and labeled as “effing grifters,” the Markles are finding it challenging to secure associations with reputable organizations.
Even Oprah Winfrey, known for her thirst for interviews, snubbed Meghan last week.
This snub speaks volumes about the tarnished Markle sparkle and the reluctance of organizations to be associated with them.
