It seems that Meghan Markle’s cameo on the hit TV series 90210 went completely unnoticed by one of her co-stars.
Sinead Grimes-Beach, who played Annie Wilson on the show, recently revealed on the Shenanigans with Shauna Shea podcast that she doesn’t remember Meghan’s time on set at all.
Describing the 2008 scene, Grimes-Beach admitted, “I don’t think any of us really remember at all.
It was such a blip on our radar.”
While she can’t recall all the guest stars that appeared on the show, Grimes-Beach acknowledged that having Markle as a guest star was pretty iconic and cool in hindsight.
In the scene, Grimes-Beach and Markle were together with Dustin Mulligan, who played Ethan.
Annie waves at Ethan before realizing he’s engaged in oral s** with Markle’s character, Wendy.
This revelation comes after Prince Harry confessed in his book, “Spare,” that he had watched Markle’s s** scenes in the TV series Suits.
He admitted that witnessing those intimate moments was something he didn’t need and even joked about needing electric shock therapy to erase them from his memory.
He also mentioned that watching Markle’s love scenes with her co-star Patrick J Adams was a mistake.
It is interesting to note that Markle’s appearance on 90210 came two years after she left Deal or No Deal, where she worked as a briefcase girl.
In a podcast episode of Archetypes, Meghan admitted feeling like she was reduced to a bimbo during her time on the game show.
However, shortly after leaving Deal or No Deal in 2006, she took on a role that included a very NSFW (not safe for work) scene in the CW’s teen drama.
Meghan faced criticism on social media for her choices, with one Twitter user writing, “Years after you left Deal or No Deal for being treated like a bimbo, you took on roles giving men BJs in cars in 90210, taking a top off to grill burgers in Men’s Health and had a ton of s** scenes in suits.
You’ve objectified yourself.”
Another user called her a “lying hypocrite.”
Even some of Meghan’s co-stars, including Whoopi Goldberg, shared their opinions on the matter.
Goldberg defended Meghan, saying, “We’re performers.
When you’re a performer, you take the gig.
Sometimes you’re in a bozo suit, sometimes you’ve got a big nose, and this is just the way that it is.
We’re not journalists, we’re actors.
We’re trying to get to another place,” explaining why Meghan took the role even if it wasn’t her first choice.
The backlash continued as Lucas Green, the chief content officer at entertainment company Banje and former boss of Deal or No Deal, disputed Meghan’s claims that the show reduced its briefcase girls to the role of a bimbo.
Meghan had previously stated that they were given spray tan vouchers to fit a specific beauty standard.
However, Lucas argued that the show constantly evolves and modernizes, ensuring it represents the values of the company and wider society.
He mentioned that the UK version of the show will continue to use members of the public instead of models to open the boxes.
Although Meghan Markle’s appearance on 90210 may not have left a lasting impression on her co-star, it has certainly sparked discussions about her career choices and the perception of women in the entertainment industry.
Whether or not Meghan regrets her decisions, it is clear that her journey from Deal or No Deal to becoming a member of the British royal family has been filled with both triumphs and challenges.
