Meghan Markle, the former actress turned royal, is facing criticism from her ex-colleagues on the popular legal drama Suits.
Gabriel Macht, who portrayed Harvey Specter, Markle’s character Rachel Zane’s boss and mentor, recently divulged some startling information about Markle’s demeanor and conduct on set.
In a live interview, Macht claimed that working with Markle was a nightmare as she consistently demanded special treatment and behaved like a princess.
He alleged that Markle was always tardy, perpetually complaining, and frequently caused delays during filming and photoshoots.
Macht further revealed that Markle was impolite and disrespectful towards the crew and other actors, often throwing tantrums if things didn’t go her way.
Despite his attempts to remain professional and supportive, Macht couldn’t tolerate her arrogance and ego.
He stated that Markle believed she was superior to everyone else and displayed no loyalty or gratitude towards the show that catapulted her to fame.
Macht added that Markle was fixated on her image and fame, using the show as a stepping stone to pursue Prince Harry.
These revelations aren’t the first time Markle has been accused of diva-like behavior on the Suits set.
According to various sources, Markle had a reputation for being demanding and difficult, earning her the nickname “the princess” among staff members.
Allegedly, she enforced strict rules such as banning anyone from filming her feet, insisting on expensive champagne, and demanding complete control over all footage.
Additionally, she reportedly had a large entourage accompanying her on set and distanced herself from the rest of the cast and crew.
Markle’s former videographer, who closely collaborated with her on a promotional shoot, disclosed to the Daily Mail that she was high-maintenance and rude, behaving as if she were a superstar.
He shared that Markle wasn’t the friendliest person off-camera, describing her as insecure and spoiled.
He expressed his reluctance to work with her again and expressed surprise at her ability to charm Prince Harry.
Markle departed from Suits after seven seasons when she became engaged to Prince Harry in 2017.
They tied the knot in 2018, and Markle assumed the title of Duchess of Sussex.
However, their fairy tale romance quickly turned sour as they faced public and media backlash for their controversial decisions and actions.
In 2020, the couple announced their decision to step back from their royal duties and relocated to the United States, where they secured lucrative deals with Netflix and Spotify.
Markle’s former Suits co-stars have displayed mixed reactions to her departure from the royal family.
Some, including Patrick J. Adams, Sarah Rafferty, and Gina Torres, have voiced their support and friendship for Markle, defending her against negative press.
Others, such as Wendell Pierce, Rick Hoffman, and Abigail Spencer, have remained silent or kept their distance, hinting at disappointment or resentment towards her.
Macht, however, has made it unequivocally clear that he neither respects nor sympathizes with Markle, believing she has betrayed the show and its fans.
He expressed hope that Markle would recognize her mistakes and apologize to those she has hurt, though he doubts she will ever do so.
Macht observed that Markle has transformed into a different person, unrecognizable from the one he once knew.
He lamented that Markle has lost her way and questioned who she truly believes she is now.
