Amidst reports that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are house hunting in the affluent neighborhood of Hope Ranch, California, author Tina Brown humorously suggested that if Meghan Markle ever grows tired of Prince Harry, she could consider dating Elon Musk.
Brown made this lighthearted comment during the 2022 Henley Literary Festival, highlighting the stark contrast between being a D-list celebrity without substantial wealth and being in the company of the super-rich.
Brown further emphasized the disparity between the couple’s current residence in Montecito, where they reside in a $14 million mansion, and the opulent properties owned by others in their circle.
It seems that Markle may be seeking more than just a new house.
Brown playfully hinted at the possibility of a romantic connection between Markle and the still-single Elon Musk.
While Musk is currently unattached following his split from singer Grimes, it is evident that Meghan Markle is happily married and deeply in love with her husband, as well as their children, and their life together in California.
However, the couple now faces a dilemma.
They have accepted significant financial deals, including a book deal for Prince Harry to reveal the details of his tumultuous royal life.
Yet, Harry is torn because he understands that once he exposes the truth, there will be no turning back.
Brown expressed skepticism regarding the release of Harry’s book, believing that it may never see the light of day.
She suggested that if the book were to be published, it would mark the point of no return for Harry, making it impossible for him to rejoin the royal family.
Another royal commentator, Tom Bauer, author of Revenge, echoed Brown’s sentiment but took a more serious tone.
Bauer speculated that Markle might grow weary of her marriage to Harry within two years and potentially seek a deal with King Charles to dissolve the union.
He argued that their current focus is on damaging the reputation of the royal family and promoting their brand, but this pursuit has limited longevity, and eventually, Markle will need a new career.
Adding to the discussion, royal biographer Angela Levin suggested that Markle is someone who struggles to find contentment.
Her remarks came in response to comments made by Tina Brown at the Henley Literary Festival.
Levin noted that Markle had previously announced plans to write multiple books and pursue numerous voiceover projects, yet she has only delivered on a fraction of those promises.
Levin characterized Markle as someone who constantly seeks change and finds it difficult to be satisfied.
The topic of the couple’s upcoming book also arose, with Levin expressing concern about the potential harm it could cause.
She argued that even though they may have refrained from making derogatory statements while Queen Elizabeth II was alive, the fact that they had initially intended to do so reflects poorly on their character.
Levin further criticized the suggestion that Prince Harry would demand the publisher refund the £18 million advance if he were to back out of the deal, deeming it outrageous.
Recent reports have indicated that Harry and Markle are searching for a new residence as their current Montecito mansion no longer meets their needs.
As they embark on this new chapter, questions remain about the future of their marriage, their careers, and their place within the royal family.
Only time will reveal how their story unfolds, and whether Elon Musk will ever become more than just a humorous suggestion.
