Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, recently gave a speech at the One Young World event held in Manchester in September 2022.
The event, which aimed to bring together young pioneers hoping to change the world, featured Markle as a speaker, introduced as a “world counselor.”
However, many were left questioning her qualifications for such a role.
Before delving into the content of her speech, let’s take a moment to discuss Markle’s outfit choice for the occasion.
She donned a Valentino tie-neck blouse and wool straight-leg pants, which came with a hefty price tag of $3,000.
This ensemble was reminiscent of her infamous Wallace Simpson cosplay, a recurring theme in her fashion choices.
As the speech began, it became apparent that Markle’s focus was primarily on herself.
She repeatedly paused to make the speech about her own experiences, discussing her marriage to Prince Harry and her role as a mother.
This self-centered approach was met with criticism from many who felt that the speech should have been centered on the event and its purpose.
Furthermore, Markle’s excessive use of the word “I” throughout the speech was hard to ignore.
In just over five minutes, she managed to say “I” a staggering 39 times, averaging about eight times per minute.
This constant self-referencing only served to highlight her narcissistic tendencies.
Markle’s speech also lacked substance, with little mention of the event’s theme or the young pioneers in attendance.
