The monarchy is facing a difficult dilemma ahead of King Charles’ upcoming coronation, as Prince Harry and Prince Andrew’s attendance remains uncertain.
World expert Nigel Cawthorn has stated that the monarchy is looking a bit thirbared, with the flawless queen gone.
The presence of Prince Harry and Prince Andrew at the historic ceremony could potentially overshadow the event, while their absence would also draw significant attention.
Although Buckingham Palace staff have reportedly been instructed to plan for the Duke and Duchess’ attendance, no official confirmation has been made.
Prince Andrew’s role at the coronation is also uncertain, following his settlement of a US civil lawsuit with Virginia Guffrey, who accused him of s**ually abusing her as a teenager.
Despite denying the allegations and not admitting any wrongdoing in settling the case, this situation has put Prince Andrew in a difficult position regarding the coronation.
According to Mr. Cawthorn, there is a battle royal taking place.
King Charles finds himself in an impossible position, as the presence of either Prince Andrew or Prince Harry, or both, could besmirch the coronation and divert the spotlight from him.
On the other hand, their absence would also diminish the significance of the ceremony.
The coronation holds great importance for the monarchy, and Mr. Cawthorn claims that the top royals seem indifferent to attending.
He further adds that neither Prince Andrew nor Prince Harry can seem to do anything right.
If Prince Andrew is not present, he will likely attract attention through other means, such as driving around in a flashy car or horse riding, while complaining about being demoted to a small cottage or leaking plans to spend millions of pounds on a legal battle against Virginia Guffrey, which he seemingly cannot afford.
If Prince Harry attends the coronation, he risks facing public disapproval, with the possibility of rotten tomatoes being thrown at him.
Mr. Cawthorn also highlights the troubled relationship between Prince Harry and his father, the Prince of Wales, following the publication of Prince Harry’s controversial Tell-All memoir.
In the memoir, Prince Harry criticizes his father’s parenting skills, accuses Prince William of physical aggression, and labels Queen Camilla a dangerous consort.
A recent YouPollGov survey indicates that 43% of the 3,024 adults surveyed believe that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle should be invited to the coronation, while only 39% oppose the idea.
However, it is worth noting that Prince Harry’s favorability rating is at an all-time low, with 68% of Britons holding a negative opinion of him compared to just 24% with a positive opinion.
In fact, their popularity ranks among older Britons are worse than Prince Andrew’s.
Despite ongoing speculation, there is still no update on whether Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will attend the coronation.
A spokesperson for the Sussexes has previously mentioned receiving email correspondence from the King’s office regarding the event, but an immediate decision on their attendance has not been disclosed.
As the coronation draws closer, King Charles faces an impossible decision on how to handle the attendance of the two princes.
The monarchy’s image has already been tarnished by recent events, and any further controversy surrounding the historic event would be highly undesirable.
The question remains: Will Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attend King Charles’ coronation?
And if so, how will their presence impact the event?
