In a recent blow to Meghan Markle’s reputation as an actress and member of the royal family, the CEO of NBN Company has decided to ban her from the promotional campaign for the final season of the popular legal drama Suits.
The show is set to air in Australia later this year.
The CEO expressed his fury towards Meghan for leveraging her former role as Rachel Zane, a paralegal turned lawyer and love interest of the main character, to gain sympathy and boost her profile following her controversial interview with Oprah Winfrey earlier this year.
During the interview, Meghan and her husband Prince Harry made shocking allegations of racism and mistreatment within the royal family, as well as opened up about their struggles with mental health in the media.
They also announced a lucrative deal with Netflix to produce content for the streaming giant.
The CEO believed that Meghan’s actions betrayed the show that catapulted her to fame and felt she had no right to associate herself with Suits any longer.
He feared that featuring her in the promo would harm the show’s reputation and ratings, as many viewers had turned against her after the interview.
“Meghan is not welcome here.
She is not part of the Suits family anymore,” the CEO stated firmly.
“She has shown no gratitude or loyalty to the show that gave her a platform and a career.
She has used it to further her own agenda and attack the royal family, which is unacceptable and disrespectful.”
The CEO also accused Meghan of lying about being invited to participate in the show’s finale, which aired in the US in 2019.
Meghan had claimed that she declined the invitation due to her pregnancy with son Archie at the time.
However, the CEO refuted this, stating that Meghan was never asked to return.
Her character, Rachel, had already left the show in season 7 after marrying Mike and moving to Seattle.
The CEO emphasized that Meghan was not part of the story, the cast, or the Suits legacy.
The CEO’s decision has sparked mixed reactions from fans and the Suits cast.
Some applauded him for defending the show’s integrity and standing up to Meghan, while others criticized him for being petty and vindictive.
Patrick J. Adams, who played Mike Ross and portrayed Meghan’s on-screen husband, expressed disappointment with the CEO’s move.
He considered Meghan a friend and colleague, stating that he was proud of her for speaking her truth and pursuing her dreams.
Adams believed that Meghan should be included in the promo and celebrated as part of Suits’ legacy.
On the other hand, Gabriel Macht, who played Harvey Specter, the lead character and Mike’s mentor, supported the CEO’s decision.
Macht expressed his disgust towards Meghan, stating that he had lost all respect for her as an actress and person.
He viewed her as a disgrace to the show and the profession, accusing her of lying and manipulating her way to the top and betraying the show and its fans.
Macht made it clear that he did not want to see Meghan’s face or hear her name again, and firmly stated that he did not want her to be part of the promo or Suits.
The promotional campaign for the final season of Suits is expected to be released in the coming weeks, featuring the remaining cast members and some guest stars, but without Meghan Markle.
The show’s finale will air in Australia in June, marking the end of an era for one of the most successful and beloved legal dramas of all time.
