Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, is set to celebrate her 42nd birthday next week with a lavish party in Montecito.
However, it seems that one notable name will be missing from the guest list – Oprah Winfrey.
According to reports, Oprah has declined the invitation to attend Meghan’s birthday celebration.
The news outlet reveals that Meghan plans to throw a star-studded event, inviting her famous friends to join in the festivities.
Among the expected guests are power couples George and Amal Clooney, former US President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle, as well as Victoria and David Beckham.
Other notable invitees include Ellen DeGeneres, Serena Williams, and, of course, Oprah Winfrey herself.
It is said that around 300 people, including A-list celebrities, entrepreneurs, and influential individuals, will gather to honor Meghan’s special day.
Surprisingly, Meghan’s husband, Prince Harry, appears to have no say in the matter.
Reports suggest that he has been completely excluded from the party planning, and it remains uncertain whether he will even attend the event.
This isn’t the first time Oprah has turned down an invitation from Meghan.
Earlier this year, rumors circulated that their friendship had soured when Oprah failed to invite the Sussexes to her star-studded birthday party in January.
The event boasted attendees such as Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Lopez.
Speculation suggested that Oprah snubbed the couple due to the controversial comments made in their Netflix documentary and Harry’s memoir, “Spare.”
Despite these rumors, Oprah seems unfazed by the speculation surrounding her relationship with the Sussexes.
Recently, she was spotted enjoying a trip to the Amalfi Coast, seemingly ignoring the alleged rift.
Dressed casually in a white t-shirt, white trousers, and black sunglasses, Oprah arrived at the restaurant Lo Scoglio in Narano, Italy, via a boat trip.
Royal expert Katie Nicholl shed some light on the strained friendships between the Sussexes and their acquaintances.
Nicholl attributed the fallout to Harry’s memoir, which caused significant stress for the couple.
She explained that the book had left a bad taste in people’s mouths, further alienating Harry from his friends and family.
Among those affected by Harry’s revelations, his brother Prince William seemed to bear the brunt.
In January, Nicholl revealed that Prince William was outraged by Harry’s portrayal of him in the memoir.
She disclosed that William was privately seething and devastated by his brother’s actions, unable to forgive him for the things he had written.
The Harkles, as the couple is often referred to, have also faced snubs from American celebrities and elites.
They were notably absent from the Obama’s 60th birthday party and were not invited to the prestigious Met Gala.
Even Archie’s 4th birthday party saw some A-list celebrities declining the invitation.
Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom, for instance, chose to perform at a different event, while Taylor Swift declined to be part of Harry and Meghan’s now-defunct podcast, despite receiving a personal letter from Meghan herself.
As Meghan’s birthday approaches, it seems that her guest list is subject to change, with Oprah Winfrey being the first to decline the invitation.
The ongoing fallout from Harry’s memoir continues to strain relationships, leaving many wondering how this will impact the couple’s future endeavors and their connections within the entertainment industry.
