Prince Beatrice’s recent encounter with talk show host Piers Morgan at a London pub has caused quite a stir.
Morgan, known for his public hostility towards Meghan and Harry, has referred to Markle as Princess Pinocchio and accused Harry of indulgent whining and hypocrisy.
Despite their friendship with the royal sisters, Beatrice and her sister, Princess Eugenie, were both in attendance at the same party as Morgan, who is the only royal family member known to have visited the Sussexes in California.
The photographs of the event have created an awkward situation for the royal family, especially following a backlash against Queen Camilla in December 2022 when she attended a Christmas lunch with Morgan and Sun columnist Jeremy Clarkson.
Clarkson later wrote an article suggesting that Meghan should be paraded n^ked in the street while people throw excrement at her.
While Eugenie and Beatrice may still maintain a close relationship with Harry and Meghan, their presence at the event raises questions about whether anyone in the royal family shares the Sussexes’ level of hostility towards the British media.
Previously, Eugenie and Harry were photographed together at the Super Bowl in Los Angeles in February 2022, and Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, had dinner with Harry and Meghan.
Their connection was even highlighted in the Netflix series “Harry and Meghan,” which featured a picture of the two at a Halloween party together.
However, some social media users have criticized Beatrice and Eugenie for associating with Morgan.
One user even called him a vile bully and expressed disappointment in the sisters for being okay with him.
Newsweek reached out to Princess Eugenie for comment, but has yet to receive a response.
Beatrice and Eugenie, who are the daughters of Prince Andrew and granddaughters of Queen Elizabeth, were seen at the Royal Pub in Notting Hill, where Morgan was a guest.
Pictures published by the Daily Mail Show showed Beatrice hugging Morgan.
Although some royal family members have expressed gratitude for Morgan standing up for them, none of the photos showed Morgan and Eugenie interacting with each other, possibly because she left before the guests.
Most of the pictures were taken outside the pub, but Morgan posted a photo of himself with singer James Blunt inside the establishment on Instagram.
Blunt and his wife, Sophia Wesley, were both guests at Harry and Meghan’s wedding.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry was spotted at an LA Lakers game the following day and is expected to return to Britain for King Charles’ coronation on May 6th.
While Beatrice appeared friendly towards Morgan, it remains unclear how Eugenie reacted to his presence.
Similar to the backlash against Camilla in December, the public criticism of the Queen’s association with Morgan and Clarkson did not spare the wrath of social media commentators.
Some have criticized the royal family for being out of touch with public sentiment towards the treatment of Meghan by the British media.
