Prince Charles was seen leaving the hospital on Saturday, following his visit to his father, Prince Philip.
The emotional exit was captured as Charles sat in the front seat of his car, still wearing his face mask, gazing out of the window.
Arriving at King Edward VII’s hospital in London around 3:20 pm on Saturday afternoon, he spent approximately 30 minutes with his father before departing shortly before 4 pm.
The journey from Charles’ home in Highgrove, Gloucestershire, to the hospital in central London covered a distance of about 100 miles.
He has since returned home.
It was announced on Thursday that Prince Philip is expected to remain in the hospital for further observation until next week.
A source from the royal family revealed that, based on consultation with his doctor, the Duke of Edinburgh will likely stay in the hospital over the weekend and into the following week for observation and rest.
The decision to keep him under observation is a precautionary measure taken with an abundance of caution.
Despite the circumstances, the Duke remains in good spirits.
Buckingham Palace issued a statement on Wednesday, explaining that Prince Philip’s admission to the hospital was a precautionary measure advised by his doctor after he felt unwell.
The Duke is expected to stay in the hospital for a few days to undergo observation and rest.
It is important to note that his arrival at the hospital was not an emergency, as he arrived by car and walked in unassisted.
Furthermore, his hospitalization is purely precautionary and unrelated to Covid-19.
While Prince Philip receives medical care, Queen Elizabeth II has remained at Windsor Castle, where the couple has been residing during the lockdown.
