The young Roa’s displayed a brave and dignified devotion to their beloved Gangan at the state funeral on Monday.
In a significant revelation, Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s new surname was unveiled for the first time during the Queen’s State Funeral.
Instead of Cambridge, the children will now carry the surname Wales, following their parents’ new title.
The public witnessed this change when the Queen’s Funeral Order of Service was made public.
It is worth noting that both their father, William, and uncle, Prince Harry, used the surname Wales during their upbringing.
Additionally, Prince Elyse, who did not attend the state funeral, will also adopt the surname Wales.
According to royal expert Angela Muller, Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, must have had an overwhelming few days.
Not only has she taken on a new role herself, but she also has the task of explaining to her young children, aged 9, 7, and 4, that their surnames have changed.
George, Charlotte, and Louise are no longer known as Cambridge; they are now referred to as Wales.
Muller emphasizes that when a young child learns how to spell their name, it becomes their identity among their peers.
This change in surname comes after King Charles appointed Kate and William as the Prince and Princess of Wales in his inaugural address as monarch.
Kate has become the first royal to hold the title of Princess of Wales since Princess Diana.
Charles stated, “It’s my heir.
William now assumes the Scottish titles which have meant so much to me.
He succeeds me as the Duke of Cornwall and takes on the responsibility for the Duchy of Cornwall, which I have undertaken for more than five decades.
Today, I’m proud to carry him, Prince of Wales, as I am the country whose title I have so greatly privileged to bear, so much of my life and duty.”
During the state funeral, Prince George and Princess Charlotte captivated the nation with their presence.
As the great-grandchildren of the Queen, they played a significant role in bidding farewell to their beloved Gan-Gan.
The royal siblings, aged 9 and 7 respectively, were among the 2,000 guests in attendance.
They were also the youngest members of the royal family to follow the Queen’s Coffin through Westminster Abbey and attended the committal service at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle later in the day.
In a solemn procession at Westminster Abbey, George and Charlotte walked behind the Queen’s Coffin, accompanied by their parents, the Prince and Princess of Wales.
The young royals’ every move was watched by hundreds of guests within the Gothic Church and a vast international TV audience.
Charlotte had her hands clasped in front of her, while George stood with his arms by his side.
The foursome walked slightly behind King Charles and Camilla, the Queen Consort, and ahead of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
As we reflect on this news, it raises the question of whether George and Charlotte will be able to overshadow the presence of Harry and Meghan in the royal family.
