Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been cautioned that they may encounter a frosty welcome at King Charles III’s coronation, as the King allegedly harbors a lack of trust towards his youngest son.
While the couple has not confirmed their attendance at the coronation on May 6th, if they do make the journey, they might face hostility from certain family members at Westminster Abbey.
Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield suggested that this could be due to the King’s mistrust of his son.
Recent reports claim that Prince Harry made an unexpected trip to London this week, but King Charles was too occupied to meet with him.
Normally residing in California with his American wife, Meghan, Prince Harry traveled across the Atlantic to give evidence in a privacy case against the Daily Publisher Associated Newspapers at London’s High Court.
Meanwhile, King Charles had a scheduled state visit in Germany and had planned to travel to France, but the trip was canceled due to President Emmanuel Macron’s need to address social unrest in the nation.
Schofield highlighted that the King’s decision not to make time for his son during the surprise visit demonstrates a significant consequence.
She stated, “The King’s diary is typically planned months in advance, so the fact that he had free time and chose not to engage with his son tells me that Charles does not trust Harry.
He wants to avoid any drama before the coronation, and he clearly believes that Harry’s grievances are trivial.”
Should Harry and Meghan attend the coronation, they should prepare for a chilly reception.
However, royal expert Duncan LeCrombie argued that the King was simply too busy to spare time for his son, whom he rarely sees.
LeCrombie explained, “Charles never expected to see Harry.
Despite being in the country, Charles had prior commitments in Germany and the subsequent cancellation of his trip to France.”
Despite the anticipated hostility at the coronation, it is still expected that the Sussexes will attend the event.
In a separate interview with GB News, Schofield claimed that Meghan desires a “tiara moment” to enhance her personal brand.
She stated, “I believe both Harry and Meghan will attend the coronation because Meghan wants that opportunity to wear a tiara.
It has been a while since she had the chance to wear something sparkly, and they need to reaffirm their association with the royal family.
After all, that is their business and their soul brand.”
This news follows a significant fallout between Prince Harry and the rest of the royal family after he stepped back from his royal duties and began revealing shocking revelations about the institution.
The allegations first emerged during an interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, which were then followed by the couple’s Netflix docuseries, “Harry and Meghan,” and Harry’s memoir, “Spare.”
