Prince Harry, despite the strained relations with his family, hurried to Balmoral to join them after the passing of his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth.
However, he was allegedly snubbed from an invitation to dinner with King Charles and Prince William, his estranged father and brother, just hours after the Queen’s demise, according to a royal source.
On September 8, 2022, the Duke of Sussex flew to Aberdeen upon learning that the end was near, but unfortunately, Queen Elizabeth passed away at Balmoral before his arrival.
Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, coincidentally happened to be in the UK for a charity event.
The prince claimed to have received news of the Queen’s death through a BBC News alert on his phone.
Upon his arrival at the Scottish estate, he was greeted by his aunt, Princess Anne, who warmly embraced him before taking him to pay his respects to the Queen.
However, it wasn’t until the next day, when Charles and William traveled to London, that Harry was finally reunited with them.
According to a new biography by Robert Hardman titled “Charles III.
New King.
New Court.
The inside story,” the Duke was excluded from a secret meeting regarding the aftermath of the Queen’s death.
In his book, Hardman reveals that William and the new King had dinner with Queen Camilla at Birkhall, Charles’s home on the Scottish estate.
The purpose of this meeting was for discreet discussions between the King and his elder son.
In the past, such a gathering would have naturally included Harry as well, but this time, he was left out.
The reason behind this exclusion, as claimed by Hardman, was the fear that Harry might gather information for his forthcoming book.
The new King needed a clear mind and no distractions during this crucial period.
Reports suggested that Meghan Markle was prohibited from joining her husband due to the ongoing feud with the royal family.
However, it is worth noting that Princess Kate also chose not to attend and instead opted to spend time with her children.
On that evening, Harry had dinner with his aunt and cousins, including Zara Tyndall, before hastily flying back to London on a commercial flight.
In his memoir titled “Spare,” he mentioned that the quickest way back was either with his father or brother, but since that wasn’t possible, he booked a seat on British Airways, departing Balmoral at daybreak.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have once again found themselves embroiled in controversy.
It has come to light that Queen Elizabeth may not have given her blessing to the couple for naming their daughter Lilibet.
The nickname “Lilibet” was used by close friends and family of the Queen when she was a child, as she had difficulty pronouncing her own name, Elizabeth.
