Prince Harry’s recent phone call to his father, King Charles, on the occasion of the King’s 75th birthday has caused quite a stir within the Palace.
According to a source, details of their conversation were leaked, much to the displeasure of insiders.
The UK’s Daily Telegraph reported that Meghan Markle also joined in on the call, and it was further revealed that the Sussex children sent their grandfather a video message singing happy birthday.
This leak has raised eyebrows among Palace insiders, who point out the irony of Harry and Meghan’s fight for privacy while their own conversations are making headlines.
“Harry and Meghan fight for privacy when it suits them, and yet the minute Harry gets on the phone to the King, it’s in a newspaper,” stated an insider, as reported by Page Six.
However, a source close to the Sussexes vehemently denied their involvement in the leaked conversation.
They claimed that the couple had nothing to do with it and emphasized that this call marked the estranged royal’s first conversation with his father in six months, following the release of Harry’s memoir, “Spare.”
Despite the leaked details, sources close to the Palace confirmed that no calls took place due to the King’s busy schedule.
This contradicts recent statements made by Meghan’s friend, Omid Scobie, who revealed that King Charles and Meghan were still in contact with each other.
Scobie disclosed that Meghan had been sending photos of their children, four-year-old Prince Archie and two-year-old Princess Lilibet, to Charles.
However, a Palace source clarified that Meghan does not have a direct line of communication with the King and instead sends the photos to his office.
The authenticity of these children’s identities remains unclear.
Moreover, Meghan has reportedly attempted to contact the King by sending emails requesting an allowance, but the Palace office has not responded to her requests.
Critics argue that Harry and Meghan’s desire for a better relationship with Charles is merely an attempt to secure financial support.
They question the sincerity of their warm correspondence, especially since Meghan does not directly send the photos to the King but rather hopes they reach him through Clarence House, addressed to “whoever it may concern.”
Some speculate that Meghan’s actions are driven by a desire to outshine Princess Catherine, especially after a comment the latter made during a trip to Kenya.
This leaked conversation and subsequent revelations are seen by many as Meghan’s way of asserting her status as the King’s daughter-in-law.
However, it is widely believed that King Charles is not in direct contact with her.
The Queen’s alleged disrespect on Netflix and her exclusion from the coronation have strained their relationship further.
Meghan’s attempts to connect with Charles, including a letter sent after the Queen’s funeral, have gone unanswered.
Critics argue that Meghan’s continuous leaks and attempts at manipulation will hinder any progress in rebuilding trust with the royal family.
They suggest that Harry and Meghan need to demonstrate genuine change through actions, rather than mere words, for a period of four to six months.
Only by consistently exhibiting good behavior can they hope to regain some goodwill.
However, given their history of offensive decisions and ongoing mental struggles, many remain skeptical.
Perhaps discussions of divorce will prompt them to reconsider their approach and make necessary changes.
