Prince Harry’s highly anticipated memoir has once again come under scrutiny, as new information reveals that he sought out his ex-girlfriends and friends after being told that his book needed more spice.
Penguin Random House, the publisher of the Duke of Sussex’s book titled “Spare,” apparently informed Harry that it lacked excitement.
As a result, Prince Harry reportedly pleaded with his close associates to feature in his memoir, shedding light on personal aspects of his life, including his relationships and upbringing.
Interestingly, this request was seen as ironic by some of the individuals whom Harry reached out to.
In the past, the royal had insisted that his close contacts remain tight-lipped about his private life and refrain from speaking to the media.
Therefore, it came as a surprise to former close associates when they were approached to divulge the most intimate areas of Harry’s life.
At least one person declined the offer, shocked that after years of being instructed not to speak to the media, they were now being asked to contribute to the book.
According to a source, friends and ex-girlfriends responded politely, stating that they would consider the request.
However, the majority ultimately declined.
It was perceived as ironic that Harry would react negatively if he ever discovered they had spoken to the media, yet now expected their assistance when he needed it the most.
It remains unknown whether Chelsea Davy and Cressida Bowenus, who were famously in relationships with Prince Harry for extended periods, were among those approached by the Duke for his memoir.
As more details about Harry’s memoir emerged, he found himself in hot water.
Karen Brady, a prominent figure in the royal family, expressed her concerns about the book in a recent column for the Sun.
She criticized the promise of raw and unflinching honesty, suggesting that it must be sending shivers down the spines of the royals and their advisors, despite the late Queen’s statement that recollections may vary.
Brady even proposed a new title for the publication, taking a swipe at Harry.
Karen isn’t the only one to have criticized Harry over the title of his latest project, which hints that the memoir will not cast his family in a positive light.
PR expert and former spin doctor Amanda Plattel accused Harry of shamelessly capitalizing on his grief.
She argued that the Duke had irreparably damaged any remaining relationships with his brother and father.
The 416-page memoir is expected to make for a tense Christmas within the British royal family.
Another source revealed that the Literary and Scientific Association is desperately trying to find a way to halt the release of Harry’s tell-all memoir, as King Charles aims to establish a new reputation for the monarchy.
