Prince Harry’s demand for an apology from his father, Prince Charles, and his brother, Prince William, before committing to attend King Charles’ coronation on May 6 has raised concerns about the smooth running of the event.
According to world expert Nigel Cawthorn, author of “Prince Andrew, Maxwell and the Palace,” Buckingham Palace staff have been informed to prepare for Harry and Meghan’s attendance, although no official announcement has been made.
In an interview with Express, Cawthorn expressed his views on the situation, stating that Meghan has remained silent recently, but it is Harry’s demand for an apology that poses a greater risk to the coronation.
However, Cawthorn believes that it is unlikely for Charles to apologize as it goes against his position as the king.
Harry had previously stated that he would not commit to attending the coronation unless the allegations he made against the royal family were addressed by Charles and William.
While Harry wants an apology, the royals do not believe one is owed, according to a source cited by the Times in February.
Cawthorn also commented on the possibility of Harry bringing his family, including his wife Meghan and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, to the coronation.
He found it odd that they would use the titles Prince and Princess for their children while distancing themselves from the monarchy.
Cawthorn suggested that Harry and Meghan are seeking the benefits of royalty while rejecting other aspects of it.
The ongoing discussion surrounding Harry and Meghan’s attendance at the coronation is expected to generate more attention for the couple.
Cawthorn believes that while Harry poses a bigger threat to the smooth running of the event, King Charles will struggle to control the situation or prevent further drama.
Cawthorn humorously remarked that Charles would simply have to sit there with a fancy hat on his head and avoid any confrontation with Harry and Meghan.
On the subject of Prince Andrew’s potential attendance at the coronation, Cawthorn expressed his opinion that Andrew seems desperate for attention.
He joked that Andrew should consider doing a n^de protest streak outside Miss Westminster Abbey instead of worrying about his outfit for the occasion.
As the news unfolds, it remains to be seen how the situation will develop.
