Prince Harry’s aspiration to mend fences with Prince William during his recent visit to the UK has been shattered, as revealed by a royal expert.
The Duke of Sussex hurried back home upon learning about King Charles’ cancer diagnosis.
Despite a brief meeting between Harry and his father at Clarence House, lasting 45 minutes, there are no arrangements for a reunion between the Duke and Prince William.
A source within the royal circle expressed some optimism following the meeting.
However, it appears that any reconciliation between the brothers remains a distant prospect.
The absence of plans for a meeting between William and Harry was highlighted by a royal expert, suggesting that their rift may persist for the foreseeable future.
When questioned about the likelihood of the brothers patching up their relationship, Professor Pauline McLaren, an expert in Marketing and Consumer Research at Royal Holloway University’s Management School, bluntly stated, “No, I don’t think so.”
McLaren emphasized the deepening divide between the siblings over time, casting doubt on the possibility of a reconciliation under the current circumstances.
Tensions between William and Harry have been escalating since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped back from their royal duties in 2020, a decision that has been further strained by the couple’s media ventures, including Harry’s upcoming memoir.
The Palace officially confirmed King Charles’ health condition on Monday, clarifying that it is not prostate cancer but a different form of cancer.
The King’s cancer was detected during his hospitalization for treatment related to an enlarged prostate, prompting him to adjust his public engagements.
Despite the diagnosis, King Charles will continue to oversee state matters and official paperwork behind the scenes while commencing outpatient treatment in London.
The Palace’s statement disclosed that the cancer was identified following a medical procedure for benign prostatic hyperplasia, a non-cancerous condition.
As the King prepares for his treatment regimen, he is expected to return from Sandringham to London on Monday.
