In a shocking revelation, director David Wiseman has shed light on Prince Harry’s controversial actions at the Invictus Games.
Wiseman, who is also associated with the Invictus Games Foundation, disclosed how Harry went rogue during the launch event for the games.
According to Wiseman, the Duke of Sussex had his own timeline in mind, which took shape after his visit to the Warrior Games in 2013.
Wiseman recalled, “We didn’t realize the time frame he had in mind.
It was back in May 2013 when we went back to the Warrior Games that afternoon.
Harry stood on stage and, I believe, in his speech, it was mentioned that we’d like to do something similar.
But he added his own note, ‘next year.’
We were taken aback.
Next year?
For a long time, there were only a few of us managing this project under the Royal Foundation.
But come September 2014, we made it happen at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, albeit barely.”
Reflecting on his experience attending the Warrior Games with Prince Harry, Wiseman shared, “It was during breakfast when Harry expressed his enthusiasm.
He said, ‘This is absolutely brilliant.
We need to internationalize this.
We should invite allies and nations from around the world.
Let’s host it at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and ensure it gets coverage on the BBC.
It’s going to be massive, with a closing concert.'”
While Wiseman acknowledged Harry’s boldness in replicating the US Warrior Games, he expressed concerns about the commercialization of the Invictus Games and the impact it has had on their organization since Meghan Markle’s involvement.
Numerous emails have poured in from fans following the Invictus Games Germany 2023, urging the organization to remove Harry from his role.
However, given his instrumental role in its founding, the process is time-consuming.
Members of the board of directors are considering a plan to give Harry another chance, with the condition that Meghan Markle no longer participates in any future events.
Wiseman suggested that if Harry had watched his own documentary, “Heart of Invictus,” he would have had numerous inspiring veteran stories to share during his speeches.
Wiseman also noted that Meghan could have refrained from discussing trivial matters like milkshakes and instead praised a veteran who overcame adversity to participate in the Invictus Games.
Furthermore, Wiseman proposed that if the couple had worn Invictus gear and blended in as supporters and workers rather than attempting a fashion show, they would have conveyed their genuine care for the veterans and the games.
Walking behind the marching veterans would have demonstrated their respect for those who sacrificed everything in the ongoing fight for democracy.
Additionally, actively engaging with the games instead of posing for cameras would have shown their interest in the participating teams.
Unfortunately, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s behavior has been far from professional, with reports of smoke emanating from their hotel room.
Their actions have given the impression that they consider themselves the show’s special guests, which does not reflect well on them.
It appears that they have failed to learn from their past mistakes.
