Prince Harry made a surprise trip to the UK on Monday to begin his lawsuit, but he was unable to see his father, King Charles.
Drama expert Kinsey Schofield has claimed that the King opted not to meet with his son during his visit.
According to Schofield, King Charles was cautious about getting involved in any drama before his impending coronation, which is scheduled to take place in the near future.
In an interview with Fox News, Schofield, who hosts the To Die For Daily podcast, highlighted the significance of Charles’ decision not to meet with Harry.
Despite the 38-year-old’s arrival in London to begin his privacy case against Associated Newspapers at the High Court, Charles chose to keep his distance.
Schofield stated, “The King’s diary is usually planned months in advance, so the fact that he had free time and chose not to engage with his son tells me that Charles does not trust him.
He wants to avoid any drama ahead of the coronation and clearly believes Harry’s grievances are trivial.”
Schofield also issued a warning to Harry and Meghan, stating that if they decide to attend King Charles’ coronation on May 6th, they should be prepared for a chilly reception from their British relatives.
She added, “If Harry and Meghan attend the King’s coronation, they better bring their parkas because things are going to be ice cold.”
This lack of interest from Charles towards his son is seen as a clear example of the strained relationship between them, which has been in the spotlight since Harry and Meghan stepped down as senior royals last year.
The couple’s explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey earlier this year revealed their grievances against the royal family, with Harry expressing disappointment in his father for not returning his calls and cutting off communication.
Despite their differences, Harry did attend the funeral of his grandfather, Prince Philip, earlier this month.
However, due to COVID-19 restrictions, he was unable to spend much time with his family.
The upcoming coronation of King Charles is expected to be a significant event for the royal family, but it remains uncertain whether Harry and Meghan will attend.
If they do, tensions are likely to run high given the strained relationship between the couple and their British relatives.
As the royal family prepares for this momentous occasion, it’s clear that there are still unresolved issues within their ranks.
Only time will tell if these tensions can be eased or if they will continue to escalate.
