Prince Louis, the youngest child of Princess Catherine and Prince William, continues to make waves as he appears in multiple images nominated for the IMAGO Photograph of the Year.
The prestigious award is presented in partnership with the UK Picture Editors Guild Awards, and it is noteworthy that nine out of the twenty finalists feature members of the British royal family.
Prince Louis captured hearts with his adorable antics at the Platinum Jubilee Pageant in June 2022.
From sitting on his grandfather King Charles’ lap to dancing to the music, all eyes were on the young prince.
However, one particular snapshot has been selected as a finalist for the Photo of the Year.
The image showcases Prince Louis playfully placing a hand over his mother, Princess Kate’s mouth.
Several other finalist images are from the Trooping the Colour event, which took place during the same weekend.
At this event, Prince Louis made his horse-drawn carriage debut alongside his older siblings, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
The real excitement began when they joined Queen Elizabeth on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.
As the Royal Air Force planes roared overhead, Prince Louis covered his ears and let out a joyful scream, bringing a smile to Queen Elizabeth’s face.
These two memorable moments have also made it to the finals of the photo contest, aptly titled “Prince Louis Screams” and “Prince Louis Screams Again.”
One of the photographers behind the finalist images, Samir Hussain, expressed his delight on Twitter, stating, “Really happy to have my photo of the Queen and Prince Louis nominated for Photo of the Year at the Picture Editor Awards.
A real honor to be recognized among such stunning images.”
However, amidst the celebration, Hussain also lamented the absence of Meghan and Harry’s children in these precious royal moments.
He remarked that no one has seen updated photos of their children or witnessed them playing outside like other normal children, which he finds quite sad.
In contrast to this sentiment, the Wales family of five is currently enjoying a happy time at Balmoral.
Princess Eugene, who has spent many summers at the Scottish estate, shared that their typical day involves walks, picnics, and spending time with their beloved dogs.
Balmoral has been a place of solace for the royal family since the days of Queen Victoria, and they particularly enjoy hosting barbecues against the backdrop of the stunning 52,000-acre landscape.
Horseback riding is also a favorite activity on the property, along with hunting, grouse shooting, and fly fishing.
Even indoors, nature’s creatures can be enjoyed at Balmoral.
It is reported that the estate is home to a colony of pipe straws, bats that nest in the rafters.
The Queen used to help servants catch these bats with nets, adding an element of fun to the estate.
Prince Louis, in particular, has been having a blast at Balmoral, as it seems tailor-made for his enjoyment.
Catherine shared with Australia’s Governor General David Hurley that Prince Louis was concerned about not being able to play games at the retreat after his great-grandmother’s passing.
He asked questions like, “Do you think we can still play these games when we go to Balmoral?”
It will undoubtedly be a fun-filled time for the royal children at this sprawling estate.
As the new school term approaches, the family is expected to return to their Windsor home to prepare for school.
Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis attend the prestigious private school Lumbrook in Berkshire, near their family home on the royal Windsor estate.
According to the school’s website, the autumn term will commence on Wednesday, September 6th.
