Prince William has landed in Singapore for a thrilling four-day event dedicated to the Earthshot Prize Awards.
The highlight of the occasion is scheduled for Tuesday, where numerous renowned personalities will join the future king.
This year marks the third installment of the Earthshot Prize Awards, an initiative that Prince William has been spearheading for the past decade.
In the previous year, the event took place in Boston, with the Princess of Wales standing firmly by his side.
However, this time around, Prince William is flying solo as it was confirmed earlier that the Princess would stay in the United Kingdom.
Upon his arrival, Prince William wasted no time in making a grand gesture to signify the arrival of his £50 million environmental Earthshot Prize in Singapore.
He turned the world’s largest indoor waterfall, the Rain Vortex, green.
The magnificent 130-foot waterfall cascades down seven stories and is surrounded by a terraced forest setting within Changi Airport’s terminal.
As soon as Prince William appeared, the waterfall was illuminated in green amidst the cheers of his fans.
He had flown in from London on British Airways to make this symbolic gesture.
After reaching Singapore, Prince William took to social media to express his excitement about being in the country.
With a tweet signed off as “W,” he wrote, “Hello Singapore!
It’s fantastic to be back in Singapore for this year’s Earthshot Prize ceremony after 11 years.
Singapore’s bold vision to lead in environmental innovation sets the standard for others to follow.
I am grateful to the Singaporean people for hosting us this week.
Let us all draw inspiration from the incredible work being done here as we celebrate this year’s Earthshot Prize finalists.”
Meanwhile, Princess Kate, apart from taking care of their three children, Prince George (10), Princess Charlotte (8), and Prince Louis (5), decided to stay in Windsor for a heartwarming reason.
Kensington Palace confirmed that she would not be accompanying Prince William to Southeast Asia as she wanted to support Prince George during his school exams.
The couple has made it clear to the King and others within the monarchy that their children are their top priority.
