The British Royal Family is known for their prestigious events and traditions, but it seems that even they like to let loose and have some fun.
In a recent revelation, it was disclosed by one of King Charles’ former assistants that Prince William once engaged in a water fight during a Royal Family Christmas party.
Former Royal Butler Grant Harold shared this amusing anecdote in an interview with Slingo.
He reminisced about attending a Christmas party at St. James’s Palace, where he found himself in the middle of a water fight between Prince William and another staff member.
Sitting between them, Mr. Harold became an unintentional target as they playfully threw water balloons at each other.
The atmosphere was filled with joy and laughter, leaving everyone in fits of amusement.
Speaking about Royal Christmases, Mr. Harold, who served the Royals from 2004 to 2011, mentioned that while some things might have changed since the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, certain traditions remain intact.
On Christmas Eve, the entire Royal Family gathers together.
They enjoy a delightful afternoon tea in the drawing room and exchange presents.
The following day, the children receive gifts from Santa Claus, and a served lunch is followed by a buffet dinner.
Attending church is also a significant part of the day’s activities.
Queen Elizabeth II used to attend an early morning service at 8 o’clock, although it is uncertain if King Charles will continue this tradition.
However, he will certainly participate in the renowned service at Sandringham at 11 a.m.
Coincidentally, just as Mr. Harold recollected these memories, the Royal family recently assembled at the Sandringham estate.
King Charles and Queen Camilla hosted the gathering for the second time, welcoming other members of the Royal Family, including the Prince and Princess of Wales.
Prince William and his wife, Princess Kate, were also present, accompanied by their three children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
The young royals were undoubtedly thrilled to spend time with their grandfather and other relatives.
Additionally, it is believed that Camilla’s two children and her five grandchildren joined the festivities.
However, notable absences from the Sandringham estate were Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
The couple chose to spend the Christmas holiday in California with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
This marks their fifth consecutive Christmas away from the royal family, as they continue to forge their own path.
The Royal Family’s Christmas celebrations are a blend of tradition and joyous moments.
While the world often sees them in formal settings, it’s heartening to know that they also partake in lighthearted activities like water fights.
