Prince William’s Endearing Relationship with His In-Laws: A Testament to Love – History Archive

Prince William’s Endearing Relationship with His In-Laws: A Testament to Love

Having a close bond with your in-laws is almost every married person’s dream.

And it seems the Prince of Wales hit the jackpot.

With 12 blissfully married years under his belt, Prince William’s relationship with his in-laws is a testament to the love he harbors not only for his beloved wife, but her entire family.

From skiing trips to group holidays in Mustique, Prince William has always been welcomed and included by his second family.

William’s fondness for his in-laws is described by a friend who shared, “A new profile story has just been published recently, detailing about the future king’s special relationship with Catherine’s parents make him the best son-in-law ever.”

Let’s take a look at some of their fondest moments throughout the years.

Over 13 years ago, the Prince of Wales decided he was going to ask his then-girlfriend, Kate, for her hand in marriage, and came up with the perfect place to do it.

William decided he would pop the question during a romantic holiday in Kenya, where the pair were spending the night in a remote wooden cabin near Lake Rotundu.

But it seems the Prince broke one long-standing tradition, in the run-up to popping the question, and joked it was due to his father-in-law.

Well, it was rather unconventional when William made the decision to not ask her father for permission before he asked Catherine.

Luckily, Catherine said yes, and her dad was more than delighted that she would be marrying William.

The couple tied the knot just a few months after they announced their engagement.

The big day took place at Westminster Abbey, and a lavish wedding reception was held at Buckingham Palace after the ceremony.

Another memorable moment between the pair was when Michael was walking the beautiful royal bride down the aisle.

Prince William joked to his father-in-law, as Michael looked a little overwhelmed, “Just a quiet family wedding, then,” in reference to the fact that a staggering 26 million people were said to be watching around the world.

Since marrying Catherine, William’s relationship with his parents-in-law is stronger than ever.

As it turns out, they get along splendidly.

Royal insiders describe how William helped the Middletons adapt to royal life.

When he sat down with them, he explained to them how things could change and made sure that he was there for them.

Carol had William’s number in her phone, as did Michael, so that they could call him if they needed him.

During the Christmas holiday, Prince William broke royal tradition and invited all of the Middletons, including Catherine’s parents and siblings, to join his family at church on Christmas morning.

William has always loved spending time with all the Middletons, as it’s his escapism.

He’s close to Carol and Michael and always insisted the royal family treat them well, which the late queen has done.

She welcomed them with open arms.

He’s also completely comfortable with Middleton’s mom coming over to their home to care for baby George.

When the Princess of Wales was experiencing severe morning sickness early in her pregnancy, Carol Middleton visited often and even stayed over to help cook and care for the youngest family member.

Even when the couple headed to New York City for a three-day visit, Carol was the primary caregiver for baby George.

In 2018, Prince William toured for five days around the Middle East, including the ancient city of Jurassic.

His wife had visited the ruins with her father, Michael, and sister Pippa in the 1980s when they lived in Jordan.

Coming across an old photograph of the trio placed near the exact same rock Catherine had played on decades earlier, William laughed, saying, “Michael’s looking very smart in his flip-flops.”
