Princess Anne remains hospitalized for a third night following injuries sustained in a horse-related incident, with Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Lawrence giving an update on her condition.
Sir Tim, 69, spoke to the press outside the hospital on June 26 after visiting his wife.
The 73-year-old Princess was at Gatcombe Park when the incident occurred on June 23, resulting in a concussion and minor injuries.
Responding to inquiries about his wife’s well-being, Sir Tim, captured in a video by ITV’s Chris Ship, stated she is “recovering slowly, thank you,” as he made his way to a waiting car.
When asked if she would be discharged that day, he mentioned that she would be released at her convenience.
During a visit to the hospital on June 25, Sir Tim expressed gratitude for the care Princess Anne was receiving, stating, “I am grateful, she is doing okay, thank you.”
The couple’s son also conveyed their appreciation to the medical staff, support personnel, and emergency services for their professionalism and kindness during this challenging time.
Following an incident at her country estate, Buckingham Palace confirmed Princess Anne’s hospitalization on June 24 due to minor injuries and a concussion.
The palace assured that Her Royal Highness is expected to recover fully while under observation at Southmead Hospital in Bristol.
Unfortunately, the Princess had to alter her plans, missing important engagements such as a state banquet hosted by the King for the Japanese state visit and a trip to Canada.
In light of these unforeseen circumstances, a royal spokesperson conveyed Princess Anne’s sincere apologies to those affected by the cancellations.
The outpouring of support and well-wishes from both close acquaintances and distant well-wishers has deeply touched the royal family, emphasizing the significance of the community’s backing during challenging times.
The incident at Gatcombe Park disrupted Princess Anne’s usual routine, leading to her hospitalization and subsequent adjustments to her schedule.
Despite the setback, the royal family remains optimistic about her swift recovery and appreciates the ongoing care provided by the medical professionals overseeing her treatment.
As the situation unfolds, the public eagerly awaits updates on Princess Anne’s progress and hopes for her speedy return to health.
