The Princess Royal, Princess Anne, has been recognized as the hardest working member of the Royal Family for the year 2022.
Despite her age of 72, Princess Anne attended an impressive 214 engagements throughout the year.
This achievement reflects her unwavering dedication and commitment to her royal duties.
However, on Christmas morning, Princess Anne was noticeably absent from the traditional church service at Sandringham, where the rest of the Royal Family gathered.
According to reports, she stayed home due to a cold, prioritizing her health above all else.
It was the first Christmas without Queen Elizabeth, who passed away at the age of 96 in September, adding to the significance of the occasion.
While Princess Anne was unable to join the rest of the family for the Christmas stroll, her children, Zara Tindall and Peter Phillips, along with their families, participated in the morning walk to St. Mary Magdalene Church near Sandringham.
Zara, accompanied by her husband, Mike Tindall, and their daughters, Mia (8) and Lena (4), made their way to the church.
Peter, on the other hand, walked alongside his daughters, Savannah (11) and Isla (10), whom he shares with his ex-wife, Autumn Kelly.
Despite missing the Christmas service, Princess Anne’s dedication and hard work throughout the year cannot be overlooked.
She topped the list of hardest-working royals, attending the most engagements out of any member of the Royal Family.
King Charles, her brother, came in second place with 181 engagements, while Prince William attended 126 events, placing him fifth on the list.
Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, attended 90 engagements, securing the ninth position.
In addition to her official duties, Princess Anne also took on personal responsibilities this year.
She accompanied her mother’s coffin from Scotland, where Queen Elizabeth passed away at Balmoral Castle, back to the UK.
Princess Anne was the only female member of the Royal Family to participate in the funeral procession for the Queen.
She made history by being the first woman to take part in the Vigil of the Princess, where all four of the late monarch’s children stood watch over her coffin at St. Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh.
King Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, and Prince Edward repeated this ritual when the Queen’s body lay in state at Westminster Hall.
Considering Princess Anne’s absence from the Christmas service, some may wonder if her absence has affected the Royal Family, particularly King Charles, who heavily relies on her support.
It remains to be seen how the palace will respond to such a significant accusation.
