Princess Catherine and Prince William are making plans to move to Windsor Castle, according to a recent report.
This decision is seen as a final blow to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who had expressed their desire to live in the castle but were unable to do so.
Currently, the Prince and Princess of Wales reside in Adelaide Cottage in Windsor with their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
However, it is expected that the family of five will eventually make the move to Windsor Castle.
The impending relocation by the Waleses is considered a direct response to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s alleged request for a suite of apartments in the castle after their marriage.
Royal Correspondents Christina Garibaldi and Christine Ross also discussed the possibility of Prince William and Catherine’s future move to Windsor.
Garibaldi expressed her belief that the couple would indeed reside in Windsor Castle, stating, “I think we figured they would eventually move into Windsor Castle, since they recently made the move to Windsor, and they’re really putting down roots as a family there.”
Ross, on the other hand, highlighted the size limitations of Adelaide Cottage and suggested that it may not be suitable for the future needs of a potential king.
She explained, “At present, it might work because their children are still young.
It’s not really big enough for what a future king might theoretically need.”
While there were rumors and hints that Adelaide Cottage was a temporary residence until the move to Windsor Castle, it was speculated that the transition would not take place until after Queen Elizabeth II’s passing, which has now occurred.
Ross added, “I don’t think we’ll see the move really quickly.
I think their children have had such a tumultuous new school year.
But I do think the move is inevitable.”
In another setback for Harry and Meghan, King Charles III, Camilla, Prince William, and Catherine seemingly teased the couple with their new smiling profile photos posted on their Instagram and Twitter accounts this week.
The senior royals replaced their somber Remembrance Day shots with cheerful pictures.
The couples can be seen smiling in their updated profile pictures, potentially indicating that they are content without Harry and Meghan.
Charles and Camilla changed their royal family avatar from a 2009 photo to a favorite formal portrait taken in 2018.
Similarly, Prince William and Princess Catherine updated their profile shot from a 2018 Festival of Remembrance photo to a joyful snapshot from their 2020 tour of Ireland.
Furthermore, courtiers also updated the cover photos for both royal couples, featuring poppy crosses in the field of remembrance during the solemn period of Remembrance Day.
The new king and queen’s cover photo showcases a vibrant image of Buckingham Palace, while Catherine and William’s page features a graphic highlighting the earthshot prize.
According to Christopher Anderson, author of the upcoming book “The King, The Life of King Charles III,” Prince William still harbors resentment towards Harry and Meghan.
Anderson revealed, “In the very beginning, Harry was not allowed to wear his uniform.
This was in the early days of the mourning period, but Andrew was, and Edward was.”
He further noted that there was an outcry as a result of this decision.
Although Charles eventually permitted Harry to wear his uniform at the grandchildren’s vigil, Anderson observed that the Sussexes appeared uncomfortable during the funeral and were eager to leave.
“And of course, I think William is still holding a grudge,” he concluded.
