Princess Catherine, also known as the Princess of Wales, has finally returned home after a 14-day hospital stay following abdominal surgery.
Upon her discharge from the hospital, she was greeted with a special welcome home party organized by her children, according to a Royal Insider.
The Princess is said to be extremely happy as she begins her recovery journey in the comfort of her own residence, surrounded by the warmth and care of her loved ones who provide an essential support system.
Although it is believed that Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis did not visit their mother in the hospital, the Insider emphasized that she had seen all the children after her treatment.
Since her return to Adelaide College in Windsor, the three children have been actively involved in her recovery process.
They even made get-well cards and prepared some of her favorite snacks for her.
It is expected that George, Charlotte, and Louis will spend a lot of time with their mother while she recuperates at Kensington Palace, as she had previously announced that she would take a break from her duties.
Amidst the well-wishes and concern from admirers worldwide, the Princess finds solace in the presence of her loved ones.
The love and support of her family members are proving to be invaluable as she continues her post-surgery rehabilitation.
While she was recovering at the clinic, the Princess kept her children updated through video messaging via FaceTime, a practice similar to how the Prince and Princess of Wales maintain close bonds with their children during royal tours.
Despite her lengthy stay at the prestigious private hospital, a royal biographer believes it was a thoughtful decision.
Ingrid Seward stated, “I don’t think she wanted to make more of a big thing of it than it already was.
They’d be rallying round in their own way and helping look after her.”
She added, “I’m sure she’s utterly exhausted, but she’ll recover well.”
The London Clinic, where the Princess underwent surgery, has strict visitor guidelines that do not permit children or babies.
Any special requests for children must be approved by the matrons, and if approved, they must be accompanied by a responsible adult throughout their visit.
Prince William has scaled back his engagements to support his wife and children during this time.
Royal author Robert Hardman suggests that this decision aligns with the couple’s commitment to being consistently present in the lives of their children.
Hardman stated, “In years gone by, if a senior member of the royal family was ill, their spouse would not drop everything.
They’d carry on, and the children would be left with the nanny or nannies.”
However, Prince William has consciously chosen to prioritize his family and step back from his duties for a specific reason.
Meanwhile, Princess Catherine is already back to work from her bed as she prepares to return to her official office duties, according to a Palace Insider.
Her last public appearance was during Christmas when she joined other members of the royal family in their annual tradition of walking to the church and greeting the public gathered outside after the service.
As the Princess continues her recovery at home, she is also celebrating the first anniversary of a special project close to her heart.
The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood recently shared a video on Instagram commemorating one year of “Shaping Us,” a campaign launched by the Princess in January 2023 to highlight the significance of the early years in a person’s life.
