Princess Catherine has finally been reunited with her three children after spending two weeks in the hospital.
The Princess of Wales, who underwent surgery on January 16, left the London Clinic in Marylebone yesterday morning.
Kensington Palace has confirmed that she is doing well.
King Charles, who also underwent surgery for an enlarged prostate, was discharged from the Central London Hospital on the same day.
Although he has been advised to avoid public engagements for a month, he will continue working through his red boxes of state papers.
It is unlikely that Princess Catherine will make any public appearances until after Easter.
The Mail has revealed that her children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, were not able to visit her in the hospital after her recovery from abdominal surgery.
They would have been in school when she returned home to Windsor, so they only saw her later in the afternoon when they returned from Lambrook School.
This period of separation is perhaps the longest the Princess has been away from her children.
Both Prince William and Kate prioritize their children, often arranging their schedules to be available for school runs.
They also ensure that their foreign tours are shorter to spend weekends at home, except for their planned trip to the Caribbean in 2022.
Prince William, who had cleared his schedule to be by his wife’s side, was present at the hospital when she was discharged.
It is likely that he drove her home.
A spokesperson from Kensington Palace expressed gratitude to the entire team at the London Clinic, especially the nursing staff, for their dedicated care.
The Princess left the hospital through a private exit around 11 am, accompanied by her husband.
Half an hour later, Kensington Palace staff were seen leaving, one of them carrying a bouquet of white orchids.
Princess Catherine will now recuperate at home, and her return to official duties will depend on medical advice.
There is a possibility that she may not be able to undertake public duties until after Easter, resulting in the cancellation of all planned engagements, including two foreign trips.
However, there is hope among aides that these engagements can be rescheduled at a later time.
Prince William intends to resume his public engagements once his wife is settled and recovering at home.
Further details will be announced in due course.
He has received assistance from the couple’s nanny, Maria Turrian-Borrello, as well as his in-laws, Michael and Carol Middleton.
Kensington Palace has stated that they will not provide any further updates on the Princess’s condition, respecting her wish for privacy regarding her medical information.
It has been suggested that Prince William and Princess Catherine will not be able to commit to any suicide until after Easter, although the timing of such an event is uncertain.
