Princess Catherine joined the British Royal Family at Buckingham Palace on 27 February 2017 to kick off the UK India Year of Culture.
This year-long celebration marks the deep cultural ties between the two countries and commemorates the 70th anniversary of India’s independence.
The event will feature a series of exhibitions and activities held in both nations.
The reception at Buckingham Palace showcased the best of British and Indian culture and creativity, attracting a host of high-profile guests from various fields.
Among the attendees were Kunal Nayyar, Neha Kapoor, Ayesha Dhaka, Kapil Dev, Rio Ferdinand, Anoushka Shankar, and Jo Wright, representing performing arts, fashion, food, literature, and sports.
One of the highlights of the evening was the display from the Royal Collection, which included artifacts from previous royal visits to India, as well as Indian gifts and manuscripts from the Royal Library.
It offered a glimpse into the historical connections between the two countries.
Princess Catherine looked stunning in her choice of outfit for the occasion.
She wore a mesmerizing dress designed by Erdem, known as the Rona metallic floral lace dress.
The pleated dress, made from eye-catching metallic lace, featured a round neck, semi-sheer sleeves, button cuffs, and a belted waist.
Completing her ensemble, Princess Catherine donned a dazzling pair of shoes by Oscar de la Renta.
The Platinum Lame Cabrinha Pumps, reworked for the new season, exuded elegance with their glistening Platinum Lame fabric.
Made in Italy, these shoes boasted a 100mm heel, a pointed toe, scallop sides, and a raised back.
Adding a touch of Indian flair to her attire, Princess Catherine wore a new pair of earrings designed by Anita Dongra, an Indian designer.
