The multi-talented Princess Catherine of Wales has once again amazed the world with her impressive skills.
Not only did she host her community carol service and concert, but she also showcased her piano talents at the 2023 Eurovision Grand Finale.
Surrounded by the warm glow of candlelight in Westminster Abbey, the princess confidently performed alongside Scottish singer-songwriter Tom Walker.
It seems that musical talent runs in the family, as Princess Catherine revealed that her daughter, Princess Charlotte, has recently taken up piano lessons.
This revelation came during a conversation with celebrated pianist Lang Lang at the Royal Variety Performance last month.
Lang Lang later shared the encounter, stating that Princess Catherine had mentioned how Princess Charlotte could become just like him if she practiced diligently.
During a Christmas carol service, Princess Catherine also mentioned that she and Charlotte had been watching Jacob Collier’s piano performances on YouTube.
In a lighthearted exchange with Collier, the princess joked about her daughter’s piano practice, while he fondly recalled her incredible performance in 2021.
Tom Walker, who had the opportunity to perform with Princess Catherine, confessed that she was initially nervous during their first rehearsal due to not having played with another musician in a long time.
However, if she was anxious about her holiday performance, it didn’t show, as Walker praised her for absolutely smashing it.
The secret practice session took place with the pair sitting on opposite sides of the room.
Despite having only one hour of rehearsal, Princess Catherine played the song around nine times and nailed it, according to Walker.
He commended her for effortlessly jumping behind a piano with unfamiliar musicians and recording live takes for the camera.
Although Princess Catherine has a piano at home, the one rented for the performance was different from what she was accustomed to.
Walker mentioned that she took the time to get a feel for the instrument.
He further described her as a lovely, kind, and warm-hearted person who personally thanked everyone involved for the opportunity to play together.
Reports suggest that Princess Catherine reached grade three on the piano, with the highest performance level being eight.
Danielle Nichols, her former piano tutor, taught her from the age of 11 until she was 13.
Nichols spoke highly of her former student, describing her as a pleasant and dedicated learner.
While she may not have been destined to become a concert pianist, Princess Catherine’s commitment and talent were evident.
In addition to her piano skills, Princess Catherine also studied singing and the flute.
She achieved grade five in both singing and music theory.
A throwback video shared on TikTok showcased the princess’s singing abilities during a school production of “My Fair Lady,” where she portrayed the leading lady, Eliza Doolittle, at the age of 11.
The world continues to be captivated by Princess Catherine’s diverse talents, and her recent piano performance at the Eurovision Grand Finale only adds to her impressive repertoire.
As she continues to explore her musical abilities, it is clear that her passion and dedication shine through in every endeavor she undertakes.
