Princess Catherine, also known as the Princess of Wales, has delighted fans once again with her annual tradition of hosting a carol concert at Westminster Abbey during the Christmas season.
This year, Kensington Palace has confirmed that the beloved princess will be hosting her annual Christmas carol concert on December 8th.
The concert will not only celebrate the joyous occasion of Christmas but will also pay tribute to those who work tirelessly to support babies, young children, and families across the United Kingdom.
The focus of this year’s edition of the Royal’s Christmas Carols Concert will be on the crucial period of early childhood.
It aims to highlight the importance of creating a solid foundation for the rest of their lives during this critical time.
The concert is expected to resonate with people from all walks of life and will feature performances by the esteemed Westminster Choir.
Additionally, several renowned artists including Adam Lambert, Beverley Knight, Jacob Collier, Freya Riddings, and James Bay will make guest appearances, adding to the festive ambiance.
Last year’s carol concert saw the presence of King Charles, Queen Camilla, and the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, among other distinguished guests.
It was a memorable occasion as Prince George and Princess Charlotte, the two oldest children of Princess Catherine and Prince William, surprised everyone with their adorable appearance.
The young royals sweetly greeted their grandfather, the King, with two kisses as they crossed paths inside the Abbey.
Although Prince Louis did not attend the concert last year, he was spotted with his family during their annual church visit on Christmas Day at Sandringham.
Fans are hopeful that he will make an appearance at this year’s concert.
In anticipation of the upcoming event on December 8th, Kensington Palace released a never-before-seen portrait of the Princess of Wales, captured while she was decorating a Christmas tree.
The photo showcases the Princess’s radiant smile as she wears a stylish white-knit turtleneck paired with high-rise black trousers.
Notably, she dons a Holland Cooper Fair Isle sweater, adding a chic touch to the seasonal attire.
The sweater features ribbed detailing, golden buttons on the shoulders and cuffs, and a traditional Fair Isle knitting pattern in dark blue and maroon.
This year’s carol concert will also be associated with the Princess of Wales’ Shaping Us campaign, which was launched in January 2023.
The campaign aims to emphasize the importance of building supportive and nurturing environments for children and the adults in their lives.
As part of this initiative, Lord Lieutenants from various regions across the nation have nominated inspiring members of the public, such as midwives, health visitors, early years practitioners, nursery teachers, and community volunteers, to join the audience alongside members of the royal family.
Westminster Abbey, the iconic venue for the concert, will be adorned with festive decorations, creating a magical atmosphere for the attendees.
However, the carol concert is not the only event taking place that evening.
Supported by the Royal Foundation, 12 community carol services will be held simultaneously in different locations, including Leominster, Sheffield, Hartlepool, Clifton, Uppingham, Upminster, Charlesbury, Chester, Newport, Londonderry, Fife, and Bangor.
Princess Catherine extends an invitation to the wider public to join in the festivities.
The concert will be broadcasted on various British TV channels, including V & IVAX’s, on Christmas Eve.
The Royal Family’s website will also feature the concert.
It is worth noting that official engagements of the royal family members are typically announced up to eight weeks in advance.
