Princess Catherine, also known as the Princess of Wales, was admitted to the London Clinic Hospital yesterday for planned abdominal surgery, according to an announcement made by Kensington Palace.
The surgery, which was not related to cancer, has been deemed a success by the spokesperson.
However, the Wales family has requested privacy during this time.
As a result of the surgery, Catherine is expected to remain an inpatient for a period of 10 to 14 days, as stated by Kensington Palace.
This means that she will not be able to fulfill her public duties until after Easter.
In light of this, Prince William has cancelled some of his royal engagements to take care of their three children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
During Catherine’s recovery, Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales, will focus on supporting his family.
This includes looking after Catherine upon her return home.
Unfortunately, any planned royal tours, including their upcoming trip to Rome, have been cancelled.
In an official statement, Kensington Palace confirmed that the surgery was successful and expressed gratitude for the public’s interest.
The Princess of Wales hopes that people will understand her desire to maintain a sense of normality for her children.
She also wishes to keep her personal medical information private.
Kensington Palace has assured the public that updates on Catherine’s progress will only be provided when there is significant new information to share.
The Princess of Wales apologizes for having to postpone her upcoming engagements and looks forward to rescheduling them as soon as possible.
Once discharged from the London Hospital, Princess Catherine is expected to continue her recovery at Adelaide Cottage, the family home located in Windsor.
It is likely that she will spend quality time with her loved ones as she recuperates.
