Princess Eugenie has delighted her followers by sharing the first picture from inside her son’s double christening with Lucas Tyndall.
The ceremony, which took place in November at the Royal Chapel of All Saints in Windsor, was a private affair with no photographs released at the time.
Eugenie’s son, August Philip Hawk Brooksbank, was christened alongside Lucas, the son of Zara and Mike Tyndall.
In a series of heartwarming snaps posted on Instagram, Eugenie reflected on the transformative year of 2021 and how it had changed her life.
August was born in February last year, and Eugenie expressed her gratitude for being blessed with him in her social media post.
She also paid tribute to the loss of some notable figures, seemingly referring to her grandfather Prince Philip and Jack Brooksbank’s father.
Prince Philip, who passed away at the age of 99 in April, had a close relationship with Eugenie.
Prior to his death, young August had the opportunity to meet his great-grandfather.
Eugenie shared, “We named August, August Philip because Grandpa has been such a huge, inspiring character in my life.
I brought little August to come and meet him and told him that we had named him after him, and it was such a lovely moment.
We were very lucky to do that.”
Lucas, Zara and Mike Tyndall’s son, was also given the middle name Philip in honor of his great-grandfather.
However, tragedy struck Eugenie and her husband once again in November when Jack’s father, George Brooksbank, passed away at the age of 72, just days before August’s christening.
As the year came to a close, Eugenie bid farewell to 2021 in her Instagram post, expressing gratitude for the blessings of her son and the growth of their family.
She also remembered those who were no longer with them, stating, “Forever in our hearts.”
Among the photos shared by Eugenie was a touching image of the Duke of Edinburgh and the Queen smiling together atop a hill in the Scottish Highlands.
Zara’s snapshots focused on the couple’s new roles as parents, with one capturing her walking with little August in a sling.
