Princess Kate, alongside her husband Prince William and their two children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, hosted a heartwarming carol service called “Together at Christmas.”
The event was aired on ITV on Christmas Eve and showcased the royal family’s festive spirit.
During the service, the royal children stole the show with their impeccable behavior and joyful participation.
They were seen smiling for the cameras and even singing along to the carols.
One special moment captured on camera was when seven-year-old Princess Charlotte showcased her singing skills during the choir’s rendition of “Away in a Manger.”
A Twitter user shared the sweet moment, where Charlotte could be seen confidently singing with a hymn sheet and candle in her hands.
The well-behaved children held candles and followed the program as they joined in singing the chosen carols and hymns.
Attendees were treated to performances by the St. Mary’s Ukrainian Choir, as well as guest musicians Craig David, Alexis French, and Samantha Barks.
Among the songs sung was the classic “O Come, All Ye Faithful.”
This was the first time Prince George and Princess Charlotte attended such a service.
The siblings arrived at the Abbey in central London, holding hands with their parents.
Charlotte mirrored her mother’s style, wearing a burgundy coat with a faux fur collar and black Mary Jane shoes.
Meanwhile, George looked dapper in a coat, blue trousers, black shoes, and a tie matching his father’s.
While Prince Louis didn’t attend due to his young age, many other members of the royal family showed their support for Kate’s project.
King Charles and Queen Camilla sat a few seats away from Charlotte and George, while Sophie, Countess of Wessex, was seated on the left-hand side.
Also in attendance were Princess Eugenie, Princess Beatrice, their husbands, Zara and Mike Tyndall, and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester.
The special Christmas carol service, spearheaded by Princess Kate for the second consecutive year, aimed to recognize the selfless efforts of individuals and groups across the country who have gone above and beyond to help their communities.
The event emphasized the joy that comes from togetherness and human connection, serving as a stark contrast to the Christmas spent in lockdown last year.
This year’s service was dedicated to Queen Elizabeth II, who passed away in September.
It celebrated the values she embodied throughout her life, including duty, empathy, faith, service, kindness, compassion, and support for others.
Titled “Royal Carols, Together at Christmas,” the televised version of the event featured additional content such as an introduction by Kate, films highlighting extraordinary individuals present at the service, and tributes to the late Queen.
Narrated by Catherine Zeta-Jones, the program also included appearances by celebrities like Hugh Bonneville and Dame Kristen Scott Thomas.
Prince William delivered a reading during the service, recalling a passage written by his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, in her 2012 Christmas speech that focused on the spirit of togetherness.
Ahead of the broadcast, Kensington Palace released a video message from Kate, where she expressed gratitude to the inspiring individuals invited to the service.
She emphasized the power of connectedness and community values, continuing the tradition of recognizing and thanking those who go above and beyond to support others.
Kate also acknowledged the incredible legacy left by Queen Elizabeth II, which has deeply inspired many.
As we reflect on this heartwarming news, it’s natural to wonder about the future roles of Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
Will they surpass the Sussexes and take on significant responsibilities?
