Princess Kate, who is currently recovering from abdominal surgery, has bravely shared her experience dealing with a debilitating condition.
In an exclusive interview with Royal Pancakes, the Princess of Wales shed light on her health struggles before her recent surgery.
The London Clinic has been Princess Kate’s place of recovery since she underwent a successful abdominal surgery earlier this week.
However, this is not the first time the Royal has faced health issues.
Kensington Palace revealed that the Princess had previously been admitted to the hospital years ago due to a different condition, which she described as “rotten.”
In 2012, during her pregnancy with Prince George, Princess Kate was diagnosed with Hyperemesis Gravidarum, a severe form of morning sickness.
Unfortunately, this condition recurred during her pregnancies with Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, leading to the cancellation of a Royal tour in 2014.
The Princess has been candid about her experience, discussing it during a visit to the Orchards Centre in Kent in 2023.
During the visit, a father shared his wife’s similar experience with Kate.
Empathizing with him, the Princess said, “I went through that.
I know what that feels like.”
This conversation highlighted the Princess’s personal understanding of the challenges faced by expectant mothers.
In a previous interview on Giovanna Fletcher’s Happy Mum, Happy Baby podcast, Princess Kate expressed the severity of her condition, stating, “it was utterly rotten.
I was really sick.”
She further explained how her body managed to extract the necessary nutrients for the baby’s growth, despite her inability to eat properly.
The Princess also acknowledged that her husband, Prince William, felt helpless in alleviating her suffering.
Remarkably, Princess Kate even admitted that she found labor preferable to being pregnant due to the intensity of her condition.
She shared, “Because it had been so bad during pregnancy, I actually really quite liked labor because…
I knew there was going to be an ending to it.”
However, she acknowledged that every pregnancy and birth experience is unique, and not everyone shares the same sentiments.
Princess Kate’s openness about her health struggles has resonated with many, as it sheds light on the challenges faced by expectant mothers.
