It is reported that King Charles, the future monarch, is covering the expenses of Kate’s wardrobe for her work-related engagements.
In 2023, the total cost of the Princess’s new clothes and accessories amounted to £159,040, a significant reduction compared to the previous year.
The decrease of £18,000 can be attributed to the notable events that occurred in 2022, such as Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee and her funeral.
Among the new outfits worn by Princess Kate in 2023, her most expensive ensemble was showcased at the coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
Opting for a bespoke Alexander McQueen dress and a stunning floral headpiece created in collaboration with Jess Collette, the outfit was estimated to be worth a combined total of £3,000 and £32,000, respectively.
Another noteworthy addition to her wardrobe was a £2,940 Jenny Packham dress, which she wore during the opening sequence of this year’s Eurovision Song Contest.
Additionally, at Crown Prince Hussein of Jordan’s wedding in June, Kate graced the occasion with two new dresses.
For the ceremony, she wore an elegant Elie Saab dress worth £7,273.78, and later changed into a Jenny Packham dress worth £3,640 for the reception.
It is believed that the King covers the expenses of Kate’s wardrobe for her work-related engagements through his official household budget.
Despite the introduction of several new expensive outfits in 2023, the future Queen also demonstrated her commitment to sustainability by recycling some of her old clothes.
One such memorable recycled outfit was seen at the BAFTA Film Awards in February, where Kate chose to wear a white Alexander McQueen dress that she had previously worn to the same event four years ago.
