Princess Mary of Denmark has been spotted for the first time donning tracksuits as she enjoys a morning jog with her husband, Prince Frederick, and their son while on their off-duty Christmas holidays in Down Under.
The Australian-born royal wasted no time in exercising after landing in Australia last week for Christmas.
She was seen jogging in Sydney on Tuesday morning, accompanied by her husband, Crown Prince Frederick, and their 11-year-old son, Prince Vincent.
The 50-year-old princess chose to wear an under-armour hat, a grey lululemon jacket, navy blue leggings, and a grey Asics runner while working out.
With her long brown hair tied up in a ponytail, she mingled with the locals and set the pace alongside her 11-year-old son.
Prince Frederick struggled to keep up as he showed off his leg shark tattoo, wearing Hawaiian print shorts, a black jogger, a white T-shirt, and matching socks.
Meanwhile, Prince Vincent opted for a Nike T-shirt, black shorts, and black trainers.
This visit to Australia marks the Danish royal family’s first official trip Down Under since 2013, although Princess Mary made a secret trip to Melbourne in 2021 for her 50th birthday.
However, this time, the visit is a private one, with no official capacity.
A statement from the royal family read, “In December, the crown prince family will travel on a special Christmas holiday in Australia to celebrate the holiday with the crown family.
It has been five years since the crown prince and their four children last visited the crown prince’s home.”
The royal family is expected to spend Christmas with the Donaldsons in Tasmania, where Princess Mary was born.
It is believed that they will be staying at Government House in Tasmania, the same place they stayed during their previous visit.
However, this week, they have been spending time in Sydney.
The family was pictured on an outing to Sydney’s Bondi Beach with Mary’s best friend and bridesmaid, Amber Betty.
Princess Mary also took the opportunity to visit Shell House, a bar and restaurant inside a historic Sydney mansion-style building.
This trip is likely a welcome distraction for Princess Mary and Prince Frederick, who have recently faced family drama.
Queen Margrethe, 82, and her youngest son Joachim have been involved in peace talks after the king announced his decision to strip his four children, Prince Nicolai, Prince Felix, Prince Henrik, and Princess Athena, of their royal titles.
However, this decision does not affect the heir to the throne, Frederick, and his wife’s four children.
Mary’s husband, Frederick, recently spoke publicly for the first time since his mother, Queen Margrethe II, made the announcement.
He expressed sadness at how affected he is by the decision.
The love story between Princess Mary and Prince Frederick is well-documented.
The couple met in a pub in Sydney during the 2000 Olympic Games.
They maintained a long-distance relationship for a year before Mary moved to Denmark to be with Frederick.
They announced their engagement in 2003 and have since built a strong and enduring relationship.
As Princess Mary and her family continue their Christmas holidays in Australia, their presence has brought joy to locals and fans alike.
The princess’s commitment to staying active and enjoying quality time with her loved ones showcases her down-to-earth nature, despite her royal status.
