In a surprising turn of events, Eurovision viewers were left astounded on Saturday as both the Princess of Wales and Andrew Lloyd Webber made unexpected appearances in the opening sequence of the finals.
The grand final, held at Liverpool’s Mandesbank Arena, kicked off with a stunning tribute to Ukraine, featuring a heartfelt piano performance by Kate.
Kate’s appearance was pre-recorded, with the segment being kept under tight wraps until the moment arrived.
Virtually appearing from Windsor Castle, she looked absolutely stunning in a one-shouldered blue Jenny Packham gown, perfectly matching the colors of the Ukrainian flag.
In her brief 10-second cameo, she showcased her musical prowess as she played the piano with grace and elegance.
Not to be outdone, composer Andrew Lloyd Webber also surprised audiences with his own piano performance in the opening sequence.
Smiling at the camera in another previously filmed clip, he effortlessly displayed his talent alongside Kate.
The opening number featured last year’s Ukrainian winners, The Kalash Orchestra, who delivered an incredible performance that captivated an estimated worldwide audience of 160 million.
