In a heartwarming visit to a Ukrainian community center in Reading, the Princess of Wales shared a tender moment with a five-year-old girl who had been displaced by war.
The center, located in the town where Kate was born, welcomed her with open arms as she arrived wearing a stylish £460 camel max and co-coat and a £279 polka dot L.K.
Bennett dress.
Upon her arrival, the Princess was presented with a traditional Ukrainian bread and salt, a gesture of hospitality.
She then joined an art class where she interacted with several Ukrainian children who have received assistance from the center.
During the class, Kate lovingly cradled a little girl on her lap, bringing smiles to everyone present.
During her visit, the Princess also offered solace to Galina Bolbrook, a mother who tearfully recounted her harrowing experience of hiding from Putin’s bombs in Kiev.
Galina had fled to the UK with her three-year-old son, leaving her husband behind to fight on the front lines.
Touched by her story, Kate empathetically wiped away a tear and expressed her wish to do more to help.
Kate took the opportunity to learn about the extraordinary efforts being made by the center to support Ukrainians in the UK.
She engaged in conversations with the center’s volunteers, gaining insight into the challenges faced by displaced families as they try to settle into their new lives.
This visit comes on the heels of the news that the Royal Foundation of the Prince and Princess of Wales recently organized a roundtable discussion to support the mental health strategy of Ukraine’s First Lady, Alina Zelenska.
The ongoing conflict has taken a toll on the mental well-being of Ukrainians, and the foundation aims to address this issue.
Throughout the visit, the Princess kept her signature bouncy blow-dry hairstyle, elegantly sweeping her brunette locks behind her shoulder.
She accessorized with dangling pearl earrings and opted for a neutral makeup look, featuring dark eyeliner and a n^de lipstick.
Kate’s choice of attire included the beloved camel coat, which she removed during her conversations with volunteers.
This coat has become a favorite of hers, previously seen during a visit to Scarborough with Prince William.
Her outfit also included a beautiful midi polka dot shirt dress, made from a sheer and lightweight fabric with a navy blue and golden yellow spot print.
The dress featured a long rounded collar, long sleeves, a nipped waist, and a pleated midi skirt.
As a strong advocate for British brands and high street stores, Kate often supports L.K.
Bennett, a popular British fashion label.
Her visit provided an opportunity for the Princess to hear from the center’s volunteers about their recent adaptations to better serve displaced families as they settle into their new lives in the UK.
