Queen Camilla, the wife of King Charles, is gearing up for a retaliation against Prince Harry and Meghan Markle following the termination of the couple’s Spotify deal.
The royal matriarch has introduced her own podcast, titled “Royal Pancakes,” as a strategic move to assert her presence in the digital realm.
Departing from the traditional royal protocols, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex ventured into various commercial ventures post their withdrawal from official duties in 2020, including a podcast series on Spotify.
Nonetheless, their collaboration with Artual Audio and Spotify was short-lived, culminating after just one season of Meghan’s podcast archetypes, encompassing 12 episodes.
In a bid to challenge the Sussexes’ media endeavors, Queen Camilla has unveiled her latest initiative, the Reading Room podcast, an extension of her highly acclaimed online book club.
The launch of this new podcast is anticipated to stir up controversy in Montecito, where Harry and Meghan currently reside.
Harry had previously targeted Camilla in his memoir, Spare, portraying her as a malevolent figure who allegedly leaked stories to the media.
Despite maintaining silence in response to these accusations, Camilla is poised to outshine the Sussexes in a domain where they stumbled, thereby exacting a subtle form of retribution.
Denise Palmer Davis, a branding expert and Bourne Media’s director, expressed confidence in Queen Camilla’s podcast’s success, suggesting that it would serve as a vindication against the disparaging remarks made by Harry.
Palmer Davis remarked, “If her podcast does well, and I am sure it will, she will have achieved in an area they so desperately wanted to succeed in, then that is the perfect revenge.”
The expert further speculated that Meghan, in particular, would be incensed by Camilla’s podcast and possibly embarrassed by her own failed endeavors.
Joining forces with esteemed literary figures such as Dame Joanna Lumley, Ian Rankin, David Baddiel, and Alif Shafak, Camilla is poised to captivate audiences with her podcast series, scheduled to debut on January 8.
Amid the COVID-19 pandemic and ensuing lockdowns, Camilla initiated her online book club and Instagram page, showcasing her literary preferences to her followers.
Renowned royal expert Jenny Bond highlighted Camilla’s enduring passion for reading, emphasizing her commitment to promoting the joy of literature in a digital age characterized by fleeting social media messages.
Contrary to speculations of vengeful motives behind the podcast launch, Ms.
Bond dismissed any notions of animosity towards Harry and Meghan.
She asserted, “It wouldn’t have been any part of Camilla’s decision to launch this podcast; she is better than that.”
Refuting claims of Camilla’s preoccupation with the Sussexes, Ms.
Bond portrayed the royal consort as engrossed in her new responsibilities, steering clear of petty rivalries.
Camilla’s altruistic pursuit of fostering a culture of reading and appreciation for literature among individuals of all ages underpins her podcast venture, transcending personal vendettas and embodying a spirit of intellectual enrichment.
