In a surprising turn of events, Queen Elizabeth has reportedly forced Meghan Markle to return her wedding ring.
The Duchess of Sussex was escorted from London’s National Theatre by two guards, and what caught everyone’s attention was the absence of any rings on her finger.
According to insiders, the Queen reacted strongly to Harry and Meghan’s decision to step back from their royal duties, leading her to order the return of Meghan’s wedding band.
Although it may have been a hasty decision made in anger, technically, the ring belongs to the Queen.
Crafted from a rare nugget of Welsh gold, it holds immense historical significance, and some individuals at Buckingham Palace believe Meghan is unworthy of such a precious piece.
As for her diamond engagement ring, rumors suggest that Meghan intentionally removed it to avoid drawing attention to the absence of her wedding band.
Observers have noticed that Meghan hasn’t been wearing her rings for quite some time now, leading many to speculate that the ones she wore after leaving the UK were mere replicas.
The release of Prince Harry’s book, “Spare,” shed light on several revelations, including one regarding the famous story of him giving Princess Diana’s ring to Prince William.
In the book, Harry denies this ever happening, stating, “None of it ever happened.
I never gave Willy that ring because it wasn’t mine to give.
He already had it.
He’d asked for it after Mummy died, and I’d been more than happy to let it go.”
However, Diana’s former royal butler, Paul Burrell, disputes Harry’s account.
Burrell claims that despite Harry’s denial, he did give William their mother’s ring for Catherine to wear.
According to Burrell, who claims to have witnessed the event, Harry willingly handed over the precious heirloom to his brother, ensuring it would grace the finger of his future queen.
When Harry proposed to Meghan in November 2017, he presented her with a stunning engagement ring.
The ring featured a solid yellow gold band adorned with three diamonds.
One diamond originated from Botswana, while the other two were sourced from Princess Diana’s collection.
Harry spoke about the ring’s significance, stating, “The ring is obviously yellow gold because that’s Meghan’s favorite, and the main stone itself is sourced from Botswana, and the little diamonds on either side are from my mother’s jewelry collection, to make sure that she’s with us on this crazy journey together.”
However, in 2019, while pregnant with their son Archie, Meghan chose not to wear her engagement ring for several public engagements.
The reasons behind this decision remain unknown.
The Queen’s demand for Meghan to return her wedding ring adds another layer of complexity to the ongoing saga between the royal family and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
It remains to be seen how this latest development will impact the already strained relationship between Harry, Meghan, and the rest of the royal family.
