Australian actress Rebel Wilson recently shared her experience of meeting Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, stating that Meghan was not as warm or approachable as her husband.
During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Wilson revealed that she had introduced her mother to the royal couple, thanks to a common acquaintance who plays polo.
According to Wilson, her initial impression of Prince Harry was incredibly positive.
“We went up to Santa Barbara and met Harry.
He couldn’t have been nicer,” she said.
However, when asked if she had previously met the couple, Wilson responded negatively, explaining that they had a mutual friend in common, a polo player.
Wilson went on to share that Meghan Markle did not leave the same impression on her.
She described Meghan as not being naturally warm, possibly due to her mother asking some slightly rude questions, such as inquiring about their children.
Wilson jokingly suggested that Meghan might have been standoffish because of these questions, saying, “Maybe that’s why she was like, who are these annoying convicts from Australia?”
Following Wilson’s comments, social media erupted in debate, with many users supporting her claims.
One person wrote, “I believe her.
She has good judgment.
Meghan Markle is a narcissist.
She acted like she’s the monarch when she married a spare to the throne.”
Another user stated, “Rebel Wilson has been in several movies that have done quite well at the box office.
Meghan has proven herself to be rude and petulant.
A question about your children isn’t a rude question.”
A third added, “Meghan’s entitlement is astounding.
She married a prince and was given a title.
Now she assumes everyone should treat her like royalty.
There’s no royalty here.
She’s a third-rate actress.”
This is not the first time Wilson has made remarks about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Last year, while hosting the BAFTA 2022 film awards, she made a jibe at their interview with Oprah Winfrey.
“From drama to fantasy, Harry and Meghan’s Oprah interview had it all.
Unfortunately, that’s not nominated in this category,” she said.
The interview, which took place in 2021, garnered attention and was even nominated for several awards.
As Rebel Wilson prepared to present the 2022 BAFTA film awards, she also playfully teased Prince Harry and Meghan Markle during an interview with Alison Hammond.
When asked about her feelings ahead of the event, Wilson responded humorously, “I don’t know.
I would say I’ve presented awards at the BAFTAs, and it’s gone pretty well.”
The interview then featured a scene from Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story, with the track “America” playing in the background.
Wilson jokingly commented, “Meghan and Harry’s new theme song.”
While Wilson’s comments have sparked controversy, it is important to note that personal experiences can differ, and perceptions may vary.
As public figures, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle continue to face scrutiny and opinions from various sources.
