Hollywood actor Rob Lowe, a long-time resident of Montecito, California, and neighbor to Oprah Winfrey, has made some controversial remarks about Meghan Markle in the latest episode of his new show, “Unstable” on Netflix.
In this episode, written by Sean Clements, Lowe’s character, Ellis Dragon, an eccentric genius similar to Elon Musk, is dealing with a mental health crisis following the death of his wife, Katie.
To change the narrative surrounding his erratic behavior, Dragon’s handler arranges for an award-winning writer named Alison Davis to shadow him at his company headquarters.
However, their attempts to convince Davis that everything is under control only expose the true chaos and insanity happening behind the scenes.
At one point, Dragon’s handler even tries to gaslight Davis by suggesting that it would be racist for her to include certain details in her piece.
As the episode progresses, more bizarre events unfold, such as a supporting character giving his love interest a catnip banana and another character being sent to a mental hospital as a damage control measure.
Meanwhile, Dragon is kidnapped by his therapist, who ends up becoming accustomed to the billionaire’s luxurious lifestyle and moves into his mansion.
The episode concludes with Alison Davis capturing a shocking image that reveals the full extent of the madness, setting the stage for the next episode, where Dragon and his staff must deal with the fallout from a viral Time magazine cover.
These events come amidst rumors that Meghan Markle’s complaints about her portrayal in an interview with The Cut have led to the writer, Alison P. Davis, being placed on unpaid leave.
The article, which thinly veiled references Meghan’s time as a senior royal, reportedly displeased the Duchess of Sussex.
In an interview with E!
News, Rob Lowe candidly discussed the changes he has observed since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle moved to Montecito.
Lowe admitted to only seeing Prince Harry once while driving and remarked that Oprah’s arrival sparked a resurgence in the area.
He jokingly mentioned that property values have increased as a result, but the downside is longer lines at Starbucks.
However, an Insider reporter decided to investigate Lowe’s claims by speaking to a Starbucks barista.
The barista explained that due to COVID-19, there has been a rise in mobile orders, resulting in longer lines.
When asked if Rob Lowe was a regular customer, the barista responded that they had never seen him.
Addressing rumors that Harry and Meghan filmed their interview with Oprah at his home, Rob Lowe shared that it was not true.
While he acknowledged the impact of their presence on Montecito, he clarified that they did not use his residence for the interview.
Rob Lowe’s comments and the portrayal of Meghan Markle in his show have sparked controversy and speculation.
As the series continues, viewers eagerly await further developments and revelations.
