Hollywood legend Robert De Niro has reportedly made a bold move ahead of the upcoming Golden Globes Awards.

As the sitting plan was released to the public, it was revealed that De Niro had requested to have Meghan Markle’s chair removed from his side.

This action is seen as a clear indication of De Niro’s disdain for the former royal, who has been involved in a series of controversies following her explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey.

According to sources, De Niro was initially assigned to sit next to Markle at the prestigious awards ceremony, scheduled for January 14, 2024.

However, the actor expressed his dissatisfaction with the arrangement and insisted on changing his seat.

Allegedly, De Niro informed the organizers that he did not wish to be associated with Markle, whom he considers to be both dishonest and a bully.

De Niro has been one of Markle’s most vocal critics, openly expressing his support for the royal family.

In an interview with The Times in April 2021, he expressed his shock at Markle’s accusations and conveyed his sympathy for the Queen and the late Prince Philip, who passed away shortly after the interview aired.

“I think it’s disgraceful what they did to the Queen and Prince Philip, who was very ill at the time,” De Niro stated.

He further criticized Markle and Prince Harry, calling them opportunists looking to capitalize on their royal status.

De Niro also dismissed Markle’s claims of racism, labeling her as a drama queen seeking attention rather than a genuine victim.

De Niro is not the only celebrity who has snubbed Markle at the Golden Globes.

Reports suggest that several other high-profile stars, including Mel Gibson, Jim Cavsell, Kate Winslet, and Tom Hanks, have also requested to be seated away from her.
