Prince Harry and Meghan, also known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, may find themselves in need of a babysitter if they decide to attend King Charles III’s coronation.
The royal couple has not yet confirmed their attendance at the event scheduled for May 6th, but the young age of their children could pose a challenge.
Their son and daughter, aged three and one-and-a-half, respectively, are considered too young to participate in such formal occasions, deviating from the norms observed in the royal family.
In a departure from tradition, the Sussex children, who are still toddlers, might not be present at the coronation.
A royal source disclosed to the Daily Mirror that the invitation status of the young royals remains uncertain, with reports from The Daily Telegraph suggesting that they have not been formally invited to the ceremony.
Should the children be excluded from the event, Prince Harry and Meghan will have to arrange for childcare during their attendance.
Historically, the Duchess’s mother, Doria Ragland, has been a reliable source of support in caring for the Sussex children.
Living in close proximity to the couple in California, she has been actively involved in babysitting duties.
Reports from The Sun in 2020 revealed that Doria Ragland even has her own living quarters within the couple’s residence, ensuring convenience and privacy in childcare arrangements.
While residing in the UK, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex employed the services of a nanny named Lauren Kumalo to assist with looking after their son, Prince Archie.
However, it remains unclear whether a similar arrangement is currently in place in the United States.
The impending fourth birthday of Prince Archie coincides with the coronation date, presenting a potential dilemma for his parents if he is not included in the guest list.
In addition to their youngest child’s situation, Prince Harry and Meghan are reportedly deliberating on whether to bring all of their children to the coronation.
According to reports from The Daily Telegraph, Prince George IX and Princess Charlotte VII are expected to attend the event, with Prince George likely to have an official role in the proceedings.
As for Prince Louis, who will turn five before the ceremony, his participation remains under consideration by his parents.
