Buckingham Palace has recently announced that King Charles and Queen Camilla will be hosting a state visit in November, welcoming South Korean President Yoon Suk-yool to the United Kingdom.
While specific details regarding the event have not been disclosed, it is highly anticipated that this prestigious occasion will include a grand state banquet, complete with the dazzling display of tiaras.
In an official statement, it was revealed that His Excellency Yoon Suk-yool, the President of the Republic of Korea, along with Mrs. Kim Kyung-hee, has graciously accepted an invitation from His Majesty the King to embark on this state visit.
The visit will take place at Buckingham Palace, serving as a testament to the enduring diplomatic ties between the two nations.
Drawing on past traditions and hints dropped by Buckingham Palace, it is expected that the upcoming trip will feature a lavish state banquet.
According to the Royal Family’s website, state visits typically commence with a ceremonial welcome at Horse Guards Parade, where the King and other members of the Royal Family greet their distinguished guests.
This is followed by an inspection of the Guard of Honour, after which the entourage proceeds to the palace in a magnificent carriage procession accompanied by a military escort.
The evening usually culminates in a splendid dinner, characterized by its opulence and grandeur.
The state banquet, held in the Buckingham Palace Ballroom, is a highly esteemed affair.
Approximately 150 guests, selected based on their cultural, diplomatic, or economic connections to the visiting country, are invited to attend.
The Royal Family’s website further explains that these prestigious events adhere to a white tie dress code, with female members of the royal family donning exquisite tiaras.
However, amidst the anticipation and excitement surrounding this forthcoming state visit, there is a notable absence.
Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, will not be seen wearing a tiara again.
The only state dinner she attended during her time in the UK was in honor of President Trump, which she and Prince Harry chose to boycott.
This decision raised eyebrows, as members of the royal family are expected to maintain neutrality in matters of diplomacy.
Consequently, Meghan has been prohibited from wearing any royal jewelry, including tiaras.
In an attempt to divert attention from the royal ladies bedecked in shimmering tiaras, Meghan has been making headlines with her own activities.
Recently, she attended a charity event for first responders in her local area, countering Prince William’s visit to New York City’s first responders.
Speculation suggests that Meghan may even leverage Omid’s book to launch her own Instagram account.
Furthermore, it is rumored that she might make a mildly racial gesture on the same day as the Korean President’s visit, such as being spotted at a Korean restaurant for the first time, accompanied by Prince Harry enjoying his own meal brought in a container.
This echoes a previous incident when Harry brought his own steak to a sushi restaurant, surprising Cameron Diaz.
During the first state visit of King Charles’s reign in November 2022, which welcomed South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, Princess Catherine and Queen Camilla adorned themselves with sparkling tiaras.
Princess Catherine wore the Queen Mary’s Love is Not tiara, while Queen Camilla showcased the Belgian Sapphire tiara, previously owned by her late mother-in-law, Queen Elizabeth.
This marked the first public appearance of Kate and Camilla wearing tiaras in three years, due to the Covid pandemic and the absence of state visits since the visit of former US President Donald Trump in 2019.
In December 2022, Princess Catherine and Queen Camilla once again dazzled in tiaras at the diplomatic corps reception held at Buckingham Palace.
Catherine wore the Lotus Flower tiara, while Camilla opted for the Belgian Sapphire tiara.
