Conservative MP Bob Seeley is pushing for urgent action in Parliament, aiming to introduce a bill that could remove Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s titles following the recent royal race controversy sparked by Omid Scobie’s book, Endgame.
The book, released earlier this week, has stirred up scathing attacks and bombshell claims against the royal family.
Seeley suggests reviving First World War laws that would potentially make the couple plain Mr. and Mrs. Sussex, according to the Mail.
Despite the book’s impact, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have remained silent, refraining from commenting on its contents.
However, the Dutch version of the book faced an issue shortly after its release, as a translation error revealed the names of two royals who allegedly expressed concerns about Prince Archie’s skin color.
Consequently, the book had to be withdrawn from shelves.
Meanwhile, reports suggest that a meeting is scheduled for next week between King Charles and Prince William to discuss the matter.
The Prince of Wales is reportedly demanding action, while Buckingham Palace is still considering various options and seeking legal advice on how to respond.
In another setback for Team Sussex, Hugh Grosvenor, the Duke of Westminster and a close friend of Harry and William, has decided not to invite the couple to his upcoming wedding, aiming to avoid any potential royal drama.
Additionally, it has been revealed that Prince William, complying with his father’s request, sent a text message to Harry just minutes before he and Kate were set to leave.
William suggested it would be good if they joined the outing as well.
Scobie’s book claims that Prince Charles orchestrated a photo of the two couples together, but both Buckingham Palace and Sussex sources deny this, stating that the King did not play a significant role.
Different accounts of the joint outing have emerged, with a friend of Kate claiming she helped arrange it, while author Robert Jobson suggests it was one of the hardest things she has ever had to do.
Sources close to the Sussexes revealed that Meghan also found the situation challenging, as it was the longest they had been away from their children amid the ongoing controversy.
The strained relationship between William and Harry dates back several years, with the Duke mentioning in his memoir, Spare, that the friction began before Meghan’s arrival in 2018.
Since the coronation in May, the brothers have not been seen together, and even during that event, Harry maintained his distance and swiftly returned home to California to be with his family.
