A royal historian has revealed that the late Queen Elizabeth held a deep desire for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to reconcile with the royal family.
According to royal historian Robert Hardeman, the Queen cherished Harry until the very end and hoped for a resolution between the couple and the royal household.
Hardeman, author of the book “Queen of Our Times: The Life of Queen Elizabeth II,” emphasized that the monarch saw Harry and Meghan as a vital link between Windsor and California, making their reconciliation one of her most cherished aspirations.
The relationship between Harry and Meghan and the royal family has been strained since they stepped down as senior royals in January 2020.
The situation worsened following their explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021.
During the interview, they made serious allegations against the royal family, including claims of racial comments about their son Archie, neglect of Meghan’s mental health, emotional distress leading to tears before her wedding, and financial abandonment after their step back from royal duties.
Despite the ongoing tensions, Prince Harry made it clear that he maintained a close relationship with his grandmother in the years leading up to her passing.
He refuted claims that his grandparents were involved in making racist remarks about Archie and revealed that he and Meghan had regular FaceTime conversations with the Queen.
Notably, they named their daughter Lilibet, a family nickname for the Queen, suggesting a gesture of reconciliation.
Following the Queen’s passing, there were signs of a potential reunion between the Sussexes and the royal family.
Just two days after her death, the “Fab Four” – Prince Charles, Kate Middleton, Meghan, and Harry – were seen together for the first time in years.
King Charles III, in his first address as King, expressed warmth towards the couple and permitted Harry to wear his military uniform during a vigil for the Queen.
The entry of Meghan Markle into the royal family reportedly prompted Prince William and Kate Middleton to elevate their public presence and engagement.
According to a new book by royal specialist Katie Nicholl, Meghan’s confident approach to royal life served as a wake-up call for the Cambridges.
The joint participation of the couples in a forum highlighted Meghan’s professional demeanor and communication skills, which left an impression on William and Kate.
While interactions between the couples have been limited, royal enthusiasts speculate about a potential rekindling of their relationships.
Despite visible tensions, moments of informal communication between the brothers and the absence of staged displays hint at underlying care and concern.
However, the rift between the brothers and their respective spouses, especially Kate and Meghan, remains evident, with little direct communication observed.
As the royal family grieves the loss of Queen Elizabeth, there are lingering doubts about the possibility of a lasting reconciliation between Prince Harry and the rest of the family.
Mistrust and unresolved issues continue to overshadow any attempts at reconciliation, with uncertainties about the future of their relationships.
The need for transparency and open dialogue is emphasized as essential for any meaningful progress in repairing the fractured bonds within the royal family.
