Princess Kate Middleton is currently in her fifth day at the London Clinic, undergoing planned abdominal surgery.
Interestingly, she is not the first member of the royal family to receive medical treatment at this prestigious hospital.
Reports from the BBC reveal that Princess Kate’s grandfather, the late Prince Philip, underwent abdominal surgery at the same facility back in June 2013, where he remained under medical care for an extensive period of 11 days.
Established in 1932 by Queen Elizabeth’s parents when they held the titles of the Duke and Duchess of York, the London Clinic stands as the largest independent private hospital in the United Kingdom.
Over the years, it has maintained a significant association with the royal family.
Princess Margaret sought treatment at the clinic in 1980 for a benign skin lesion, adding to the list of royal figures who have crossed its threshold for medical purposes.
As Princess Kate continues her recovery journey post-surgery, it is anticipated that she will remain hospitalized for a period ranging from 10 to 14 days.
Following this initial phase of treatment, arrangements have been made for her to be transferred to Adelaide Cottage, where she will further progress towards full recuperation.
Kensington Palace officially announced the surgical procedure, emphasizing that it was a planned intervention unrelated to any cancer-related concerns.
Being an integral part of the royal family’s future, Princess Kate holds a significant role as the spouse of Prince William, the next in line to the throne, and as a devoted mother to their children.
