A new investigation is set to delve into the ongoing battle for survival within the royal family, leaving Prince Charles feeling increasingly concerned.
Welcome to the Kate Middleton and the Queen Channel, where the worlds of meme culture and monarchy collide.
Cast your mind back to 2020, when we were all just trying to navigate the challenges of the pandemic, baking sourdough bread and ordering sweatpants in bulk.
Remember the “how it started, how it’s going” trend?
Well, it seems that Buckingham Palace might want to join in and create their own version featuring King Charles and his family.
Imagine if they were to recreate a photo taken for His Majesty’s 70th birthday back in 2018.
The original picture showed King Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince William and Catherine, as well as Harry and Meghan, all posing politely in a garden.
Fast forward to today, and that same family picture would likely depict William and Harry engaged in a heated argument, while Catherine throws a half-used tube of lip gloss at Meghan.
It would be a clash of American and English cultures, with passionate discussions about “My Truth,” Princess George, Louis, Archie, and Princesses Charlotte and Lilibet standing there, unfamiliar with one another despite being cousins.
So, how are things going in 2023 for King Charles and his wayward son, Harry, who is now living in California?
Not well, and it could get even worse.
The cause of concern is a book called “Endgame,” set to be released by Omid Scobie, a close ally of Meghan and Harry and author of the 2020 book “Finding Freedom.”
“Endgame” is promised to be even more damaging to the royal family than its predecessor.
While the exact contents remain unknown, the one-word title suggests a penetrating investigation into the monarchy’s fight for survival, painting a picture of a monarchy on the verge of collapse.
The book’s blurb is equally troubling, highlighting an unpopular king, a power-hungry heir, and a queen willing to go to extreme lengths to protect her image.
However, amidst the chaos, there is expected to be a brave hero – a prince forced to start a new life after being betrayed by his own family.
It doesn’t take much to guess who that prince might be.
Some of the chapter titles include “Shaky Ground,” “The Queen is Dead,” “The Monarchy Faces Trouble,” “King Charles’ Premiere,” and “Gloves On, Prince William Heir to the Throne.”
But perhaps the most damaging chapter is titled “Race and the Royals: Institutional Bigotry and Denial.”
Naturally, palace officials are feeling nervous about the potential accusations of racism that may arise from this book.
While they are unlikely to comment directly, any such claims will be strongly refuted.
Although this may not indicate an immediate lawsuit, it certainly hints at a brewing controversy.
The strained relationship between Charles and Harry has been a topic of discussion for some time, but if these new allegations gain traction, the royal family may not remain silent.
Adding to the complexity of the situation is Charles’ upcoming 75th birthday.
Reports suggest that he invited Harry to the celebration, but conflicting accounts have emerged.
The Sunday Times claims that Harry declined the invitation, while the Telegraph’s Victoria Ward stated on Twitter that Harry was not invited in the first place.
This disagreement over a simple invitation further highlights the unlikelihood of a reconciliation anytime soon.
According to the Times, some members of the royal family initially sympathized with Harry and Meghan’s struggles within the institution.
However, their Netflix series and Harry’s book, “Spare,” proved to be the final straw, severing ties between the Sussexes and the rest of the family.
A recent source, who spent time with the royal family in Scotland, revealed that there was once hope for reconciliation, but now the door is firmly closed due to the documentary and the book.
While Charles may be quicker to forgive as Harry’s father, the rest of the family remains distant.
As tensions rise, Harry made a new appearance in a video for the charity Stand Up For Heroes, coinciding with King Charles presiding over his first state opening of Parliament, and William successfully leading his Earthshot Prize initiative in Singapore.
It seems that “Endgame” will revive some of the most damaging allegations against the royal family, if not introduce new ones.
The palace is preparing to counter any claims made in the book, indicating that peace is unlikely to be restored anytime soon.
Father against son, brother against brother, Buckingham Palace against Montecito – this ongoing saga has proven that transatlantic relations can always worsen.
We have witnessed a journey filled with truth, broken necklaces, and frozen penises, and one thing has become clear: the rift between the royal family and Harry and Meghan continues to deepen.
